I have a 99 LX that has several instrument bulbs out (ECT indicator, cruise indicator, the "D" light, etc.) Does anyone know if those bulbs are commercially available (if so, part number?) or are they dealer-only bulbs? Thanks.

Maybe get the original bulb from cruiserdan and shoot it over to George the LED guy and have him create an LED replacement for us that will last forever.
TaskLED Home
Also might try these guys - looks like they have a LED replacement for the 194 style dash bulb.

The bulb is fitted to a small plastic turn and lock type housing, similar to the ones in toyota switches, who knows if anybody else makes them, just buy the original, they are only about 1 watt globes anyway, if you want you can modify the base and fit a led. They seem quite accessable
IH8MUD.com Forum - View Single Post - Cruiser99's Triple Diff-lock Indicator Light Mod:
I expect this pic will be the same or similar for the 98-02 models, the 03 came out with surface mounted LEDS except for a few bulbs which were for trac/vsc/fr rr diff lock etc
My BMW M Roady had very similar looking bulb bases. Once removed, the bulb easily pulled out of the base and could be replaced by a 194(IIRC). I had to buy an OEM bulb assembly just in case though.
The dealer not giving the part number is just sh*ty. I'd find another dealer and get the number from them. I'd also let the management know that if their parts guy can't give a part number, you can shop elsewhere for your next Cruiser.![]()
Now that its been several months, how are you liking the bulbs? Any of them burn out?I ordered the same ETOPARS bulbs from Amazon as albylam:

To identify the polarity of the LEDs I used a camera battery and marked the positive side of the bulbs:

The next photos shows which side is positive and which is negative. Use this to save yourself some trial and error as it is quite a pain to constantly take apart the unit:

The fit of these bulbs was so so - I damaged two bulbs inserting them as they were hard to turn without applying quite a bit of downward pressure. Delivery was quick and I am happy with the brightness so I won't complain too much.
