I am considering moving from the LC to the LX and wondering if sitting for 6 months per year would elevate the risk of an AHC failure. It would not have occurred to me, but I had a Tesla with air suspension and of the shocks failed during storage. I realize the LX is hydraulic and I would imagine that makes it less prone to failure.

I will have it started and exercised every few months.

Thanks

I can't imagine it would have much of an impact but it wouldn't hurt to exercise it regularly when you can. Interesting to see you moving from a LC to a LX, I just made the opposite switch lol.

Yeah, I certainly love the LC and prefer its styling. Primary rational is AHC for wife to ease ingress/egress and seat comfort. I also prefer a brighter interior - Mark Levinson didn't hurt either, although I found the JBL quite good.

If you’re storing for that amount of time, consider storing it partially on jacks so the suspension isn’t holding the entire weight

This doesn't make any sense to me. Most vehicles sit on their suspensions for decades. I'd be more concerned about flat spotted tires or rodents than anything else.

true - but with AHC supporting the weight with pressure and valves, if you’re aren’t driving it, just release the pressure and suspend it with jack stands. Why allow static pressure for 6m for no reason?

Agreed the JBL isn't bad but I don't blast my music anymore so it's not a big concern. AHC was a nice feature and I enjoyed the uniqueness of the system but I doubt I'll miss it all that much. Oddly enough we prefer the darker black headliner and plastics in the LC over the grey headliner and plastics we had in the LX.

Yeah but then you’re twisting suspension bushings.

sorry should be clearer - I’m just suggesting jack stands to help support weight, you could keep wheels on ground - no need for extremes

Park it in a rodent free environment, put the battery on a tender, and run some Stabil through it if you are concerned about the gas going bad. I park my 911 annually from roughly November through April/May and it is fine (I don't bother with Stabil). Some people suggest changing the oil before storage. It sits on its wheels, suspension fully loaded, on a four post lift.

Park it in LOW and take it out every 3-4 weeks.

Yes, I think low would have the least resistance on the hydraulic system.

It's a Toyota/Lexus. Not a Porsche. I'd have no qualms parking either for 6 months. Probably in normal height mode as I agree with @04UZJ100 on bushings, along with coil springs. Probably better to evenly load things.

Don't forget the float charger.

Or, keep the hood unlocked.
