I just change the factory Dunlop's on my 600 to a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 and went one size bigger to 275/50/22. Let me tell you this is the move if you want to keep the stock wheels. How Lexus sells a 100k vehicle with those s***ty Dunlop's is is beyond me. The look, the ride quality, everything is much much better. The car drives like it actually has some solid footing now and it looks damn good!

Say what you will about the stock Dunlops but I got lucky: technician found a screw embedded sideways in the tire, but not at the right angle to puncture it! Whew.

275/50/22 Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 on stock wheels. H2 height while doing the Medano Pass in Colorado!

Looking great! Do you have any pics at normal height?

So i got my vossens 22 x 9.5 30 mm offset and michelin defenders 275 50 22 size. The wheel and tires are indeed massive and weight is about 80lbs i believe. The stock tires are just under 10 inches wide and the new 275s are 11.25 inches total width. Very big tire. Cannot imagine folks putting wider than this. Will do a trial fit tomorrow but based on info in this thread should fit nicely.

Interestly on tireracks website the 275 50 22 and 285 45 22 profile tires have same section width. Contact areas on pavement for 285 is more.

Did you also get a matching 22 spare? What is the recommendation when deviating from the stock size?

The Dunlops aren’t the worst tires out there by any stretch. Its like the rest of the LX, they are ok at everything and good at some things. Really no need to rush out and change them.

I dismounted them so I can store the stock wheels. If my friend doesn’t take them for ~$500 I am going to go drop them off at my ranch and hopefully use them up in the next 7 years. Otherwise like the rest of the s*** I drag up there, archeologists can study them one day.

As far as the spare, you should change it to match since these are full time AWD. Air if to max tire PSI before putting it back under there and I flipped mine to face down.

Im scrapping my plans for the vossens. Very disappointed. Just sticking to oem wheels.

The vossens have slight poke. I may still keep them or sell them.

Interesting, my same size wheels and BS don’t poke; at least not from the top view. 285 tires too but .7 inch shorter.

What color are those wheels? Anthracite or Matte Gunmetal? I'm trying to decide between those or the HFX-1 in 20".

Anthracite. I have 5 of them 22 x 9.5 . 2 of them were mounted with defenders but not driven. Essentially brand new. 30 mm offset. Have the lugs and locks . Matte gray is not as glossy and the Anthracite matches the f sport rims more closely in color. May consider offers....

Maybe try a more rounded sidewall? 275/50/22 Continental HT or 285/45/22 Yokohama Parada (what I am running). Same wheels.

I too had to scrap my plans for wheels. Apparently the Niche spokes might hit the brake caliper according to the mfr even with spacers. Now looking for F-Sport wheels which I'll pair with Conti HT
