@chillaxed I would suggest 22x9.5 +30 offset and run 275/50/22 in an AT (or 285/45/22 in a street tire), you can see mine above and that is the tallest 285/45 you can get.

The toyo RT in that size is only 1lbs heavier than the AT3.

I assure you I racked my brain on this for months. The 22 and 24 sizes and offsets I know well.

If you run the AT there is a 200 series lift puck you can use to lift the front about an inch, there is a thread on it.

I put 285/50R22 Toyo AT3's on the stock 22's but they rubbed the UCA just a bit at full turn. If you go with a lower offset than the stock 55's, you should be fine with 285/50R22 but be warned that the ride is going to be rougher as there isn't much sidewall there. If you're going aftermarket rims, I would get a smaller rim size and the 30 offset would be good. I have 18's now with a 47 offset.

Get with the times buddy 🤣🤣. Blangin

Anyway the issue I had with the 285/50/22 was the E rating stiff sidewall and the weight. You are going up almost 20lbs over stock with the Toyo at3 or BFG KO3 at 56lbs in that size. Granted my 22x9.5 vossens are way lighter than stock wheels.

The 275/50/22 Toyo AT3 is 46lbs and P rated. So with a light weight wheel you arent far off stock.

Also with a 22x10 I wouldn't go past 275 width if you have anything under +30 bs. You start pushing it there as they will hang out some.

With a light weight 22x9.5 +30 with regular suspension and a 1 inch puck lift you could run one of those lighter 285/50/22 without much issue. If you want a little extra meat. Mpg, ride, and acceleration will suffer some.

im going with the vossen hf-6 20 x 9.5 in 30 mm offsets. will be putting on 285 55 20 tires on and see how that goes. michelin defenders. probably need to put jaos fender flares as well. this thread is very informative above. i thought about the 275 50 22s on the stock rims but i dont think that is safe even thought michelin says it is. worried about tire failures at high speed. most of my driving is on the highway. dont mind the slight extra meat on side but not too much.

I have a set of almost new Vossen HF6-4 wheels with 285/45/22 Michelin defender LTX ms2 mounted, 30 offset. Unlike the original post, I find the 30 mm offer to line up perfectly with the wheel wells. I also have a set of the JAOS 18 inch wheels without tires. Located in NorCal. looks sharp!
I bought @neillo189 ‘s wheels, here they are mounted up. Really happy 22x9.5 +30 offset. Now I need to figure out the jerky transmission and black this thing out.

285/45/22 Yokohama Paradas. These are a hair taller than the others and Z rated but about 3/8” shorter than stock. But God those Dunlops are compete junk compared to these.

The 275/50/22 would work fine. I think these are top speed limited to around 120 I read. Got to 117 once but backed off because of traffic ahead.

I assure you you won’t need fender flares on a 9.5 +30 wheel. Its like its designed for it. Doesn’t even sling much up on the windows and mirrors running down muddy roads and trails. Edit: with street tires, can’t vouch for ATs.

Also, there isn’t a lot wrong with the stock Dunlops, i may actually put them back on when the Yokohamas wear out so i can run them briefly and sell the set and change it up. You can run those on my size Vossen wheel and they look great. There is a thread on lexusclub at the top right now and pics of that set up.

Correction went with the 22 x 9.5 rims and will get the 275 50 22 michelin defenders. Wanted to stay within the 3% rule change and better speed rating. Now the wait for the special color i ordered!
