Very few LX600s are having engine issues. They were handmade in Japan. This vehicle is very rare, and has better build quality than anything out there at any price point. I absolutely love this car, and IF the engine ever blows I am sure Lexus will take care of it. I added the extended warranty before there were any of these rumors. To me this is all FUD, and 99%+ of LX600 owners have had no issues to date.

PS if you can swing a $112k+ car, then you can fix whatever it needs outside the warranty period. 🙄

That's because there are very few Lexus LX out there. The engine in the LX is not handmade, and it is subject to the same recall as the Tundra engine....there is something wrong in the design/manufacturing process of the engine. I don't doubt that Toyota will make the appropriate repairs, but there have been enough failures in the LX for Toyota to include it in the recall.

I’ve heard nothing credible regarding a refresh. Only a potential LX600H down the line to introduce a hybrid power train. I never got on with the styling which is a shame because the 600 still feels like a premium, well screwed together vehicle and is definitely a cut above the new GX. But IMO the LX hasn’t looked good since the 470/100 Series. I would love to see a refresh sans predator grill on a set of coils. (Along with a confidence inspiring engine of course!)

They should really just offer a

Agreed. Although the 2014 mode LX570 looks pretty good in person. I believe that was their first facelift. The few 600s I saw for some reason appeared smaller than a 200 series. Especially from the side profile. Looks shorter. But it could be an illusion.

Sure needs as revised front grille --- Terminator is not attractive.
While I used to feel the same way, I’ve actually come to like it somewhat now. Mines all black so it not all right in your face. I also appreciate the fact that there aren’t any other front ends that look like that and I don’t see any LX600s on the road. Since I’ve had mine, I’ve only scene 3 others on the road (one white in CT and 2 geeen in NY)

I drove mine 1,500 miles home and we saw one other LX600.

But whats funny is I brought it in for warranty work and while i was there, around 30 minutes, 3 others pulled in for service (don’t know if it was warranty or oil changes) including another blk/blk Fsport.

The great news is my shudder feeling is abnormal and will be addressed and the shop foreman listened to me when I told him some things I saw on the forums that may help address it. He also said he sees the LX regularly and that they have only had ONE in for engine failure. Very busy high volume Houston dealer.

I just want a 300 series with GR trim

Yes but you also need the back half behind the rear doors.

Would consider it but I don’t think they make any cross over colors in the base entry 600

Utter stupidity what you just said. I can afford to finance a $112k car but I sure as **** can’t afford to just dump $45-50k on an engine replacement every 20k miles when your warranty runs out.
Warranty can be extended...

Lexus will NOT leave anyone hanging IF the engine blows due to this alleged design failure, even outside warranty period.

FUD is utter stupidity.

Really? What makes you say that?

Reliability is gone. And it’s priced the same as an X7/GLS.No sense left getting a new Lexus anymore unless you’re the 0.000001% buyer that will actually take this thing on a dirt road.
