Love the 3:1 T-case gears. Their from Marks 4WD of Melbourne AU. With the 4.9 first of the H55, and the stock 3:70 diff gears, I get a 56:1 crawl ratio. Not duel T-case ratio's, but much better then the 25:1 it had when it was stock. Just enough to go the places I'm willing to take it. (partial Rubicon trail, ect)

Brown

What a good looking rig, and some inovation in fab shows too. Looking good so glad you posted the pic's. And as I have been around a while welcome to mud :bounce::flipoff2::beer:

Sweet. I am sure that the neighbors in the campground like those camping speakers. Nothing like some peace and quite powered by dual bateries.

I would welcome you but I have not been around long enough to use the official welcome sign language.

I have! :hillbilly: :flipoff2:

Sweet truck man.

beautiful cruiser. think I was actually looking at it a while ago on cardomain.com if I recall correctly. although I'm not a fan of the brown, I have to say it's in such good condition. I don't think I have the heart to consider the paint job to be a negative. even if it is brown.

also I have to thank you for your speaker setup. I stole the portable speaker idea probably well over a year ago. seein the pictures just reminded me of that.

Welcome to Mud!

Welcome to Mud!

Thanks for the kind words and welcome. It has been on Cardomain for about 4 years now. As for the portable speakers. I found that my friends like tunes while camping, and D batteries for the boombox were getting expensive. Optima batteries recharge for free. This board is all about sharing idea's. Glad I could contribute one.

Just bought an 84 poo. I lurked for a month before taking the plunge. T bones; nice job man, you give me the confidence to believe that poo can be beautiful. (I have to get a camera.)

SUPER CLEAN ... and the best color too

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I geuss I'm a fly in the Cruiser domain as I don't mind the poo brown. But I love all Cruisers regardless of what color they are.

I can't believe you waited this long to post your cruiser porn....

Welcome to the addiction....:flipoff2::flipoff2:

Awesome looking truck, by the way...I love the brown!

i lke the brown and i like the rest of the mods to your rig,
did you have to drill holes through your roof to mount your cb.
i have a gallaxy cb and it is large like your cb and was thinking of mounting it
to the roof but didnt have any ideas how to do it without drilling through the roof

No, I didn't drill through the roof. I would NEVER do that! I had a friend build me a bracket. I first fashoned it out of cardboard then had him make me it out of sheet metal. It's held up with two sheet metal screws that went into the roof right above the windshield. The roof has a peice of metal that extends in about 2 inches past the windshield just under the headliner.

The rear veiw mirror screws also go through it. Those screws are machine screws that go into welded on nutts on the backside of that winsheild reinforcment peice of metal. The rear veiw miror screws are stong enogh to hold it, though I don't recomend just counting on those. Gotta love the way our Cruisers are made, won't see that kind of construction on anything made today!!!

Not sure about "camping speakers", but...

I like that CB mount, I've contemplated something similar, but I wasn't about to peel back my headliner to investigate the possibility. So if I understand correctly, you just used self-tapping screws, rather than tapping a hole, right? Looks like that base is about 1/4", how long are the screws, overall?

Also, you might add a fish finder to your avionics. That way if you ever fall in the drink, you'll know how deep you are.

The Lawrance has that option along with radar too. This way I can also find the shoreline! However dispite it's fantastic aquatic features, it is also the best off road GPS I could find.

I used 1/4 inch self tappers to secure that CB brackett. You can feel the windshield reinforcement through through the headliner. It hasn't moved in 5 years.
