I was just wondering if anybody has ran these tires?
I had a set of ssr swampers and loved them.
However they dont make a 33x10.50 in ssr.
The ltbs are 34x10.50 and good price.
I made the mistake last year of buying 33x10.50 thornturds.
NEVER AGAIN.
These tires suck everywhere mud, sand, street, rock,or snow. :censor:

LTBs are good tires. A few of the folks I wheel with use them and they preform awesome off road. They are not well suited for road duty, but the price is hard to beat.

If I could find a mule that as hard as LTB's I would go into farming! Good tires good price.

If anyone has a set of the 34" LTBs on there mini truck, could you please post a picture?
Thanks.

A friend of mine has the 34x10.50 ltb's on his mini.
I'll see if I can get a picture posted up for you :D

The only mods we did to his mini to make them fit was sawzall the
rear fender wells and a big f :censor: hammer to the pinch
welds in the front wheel wells.
Torsion bars are cranked but NOT to the extreme
No lift and the tires do rub a little at full steering wheel turn.
Sawzall really saws all :flipoff2:
I was gonna run these tires on my 4-runner but I just
got a good deal on a set of 35x12.50's.
I also have 1.5 inch suspension lift and 2 inch body lift
These tires are really light even compared to my
31x10.50 super swamper SSR's.

Jonathan,
Your Hilux is (would be) called a crew cab mini-truck here in the States.
The Special Service TSL and the LTB are different tires -- The LTB being 1.5 inches wider and a bit more aggressive. It should also fit on your truck fairly easy. The special service TSL is super skinny.
I have a stock 85 standard cab that I'm throwing a set of 34" LTBs on this afternoon. :D I'll let you know how they fit.

With my sagging stock springs, the 34" LTBs hardly fit. There is a ton of rubbing going on in the front wheel wells but nothing that a BFH and some more lift won't fix.

LTB's are crude, but very effective offroad.

They're rarely round, and wear like human flesh on pavement.

On a trail only rig I loved them

No, I haven't wound the steering stops out yet.
The truck is going to go under a dramatic change once I get all the right bits and pieces. It will have a 4" lift and 3" wider front and rear axles. I think when it is all finished, the rubbing issues will be gone. :D I just had to get the old tires off 'cause they belong to someone else. I just used them to get the vehicle through the state inspection.

Great feedback on a very cool tire and size! Swampers are incredible off-highway, but will rattle your teeth out on the highway (but so will a 40) :)

Jonathan,
I haven't done much driving on them yet since I'm still waiting to put on the lift. Hopefully that will go on next week.

Just like everyone else said, these are awesome tires for off road, but don't last long enough on road. I stuffed them under my 91 4Runner with a 2" BL and 1.5" rear springs (and some hammer action on the front fender)

The truck is still waiting for the new springs to go in. Haven't had a bunch of free time to wrench.

Curran,
I have these tires coming to me to put under my BJ42 this week, and was wondering what sized rim you have?
Cheers,
Deny

I ran some for a couple of years. i had the 34x10.50's and they were excellent off the road.

On the road was a different story. They took a few miles to warm up, and then they would stop shaking everything to death. They are LOUD, and the more wear, the louder they get. Expect to get about 20 to 25,000 miles out of them if you run the road alot.

Bottom line for me, they were excellent off road, but not worth running on the road.

A great alternative if your going to run these tires on the road at all, would be the TRXUS swampers. They are radials and also come in a 34x10.50 size. They are also priced right. I ran some 35's and they were excellent in every condition. Snow, Ice, mud, sand, rain.... They had about 25,000 miles on them when I sold the rig, and were about half tread wear mark. For a mud tire they are quiet on the road. Quieter than any mud tire I've ever had. Held up better in the rocks then the LTB's. The LTB's tend to chunk off the outer lugs in the rocks.

Go with the TRXUS if your road driving at all. LTB's are great for an off-road rig only... unles you like rough, loud, and poor tread life.
