Thank you! I'm guessing that's 11.25?

My experience is that the OD of the disk is not important. All GM clutch disks I have seen will fit the input shaft of a SM420 from the mid 1940s through at least the late 1980s.

I haven't seen many GM engines after the late 80s, so maybe they have something new that I have no experience with. Check out the Novak adaptors and Advanced adaptors web sites as they have a lot of info on swaps. The bellhousing will be more of an issue than the clutch disk.

No, Pin is refering to the diameter and spline count of the input shaft on the SM420. As to the rest, I don't know.

Talk to proffitts he did one I use a 11" Centerforce with my SM420 not to sure about LT1 post pics when done. Sound sweet

In a 4x4???

Wow, your putting an LT1 Chevy in a landcruiser? I´m sure your aware that an actual original style LT1 is a bad choice for a 4x4 as the torque curve starts at around what, 5000 rpm? Change it up a bit though and wow. I had a 300 plus hp 350 in a CJ5 once and could get the front wheels to hop up off the ground :hillbilly:.

Wow, you must be new to wheeling, many have done this swap. ;) The computers are simple to flash for a lower powerband.

I´m behind the times for sure but not exactly new to 4x4 vehicles. When I was 17 I traded my first car, a 69 Mercury Cougar for my friends 59 3-4 ton, long bed ford pickup on which he had put 40 something inch tires which the stock 6 would barely turn in any gear except granny... but... if you had enough time and patience, you could work up steam and it would eventually barrel down the path like a locamotive picking up steam, I had a right leg like Arnold Schwartznegar from standing up on the brake pedal making agonizingly long, slow stops, always just in time. Actually, that is not really very funny, the previous owner was involved in a fatal accident with that truck becuase of those brakes and tires, I dont know why he didn´t go to jail for it, I was lucky I didnt do the same. Since then I have had the following 4x4 vehichles.

57 CJ-5 350 T90 (broke it trying to do wheelies)
68 Jeep Comando V6 (paid 800$ on a car lot, adjusted the clutch then later sold it for 5000$ on ebay)
67 Jeep Comando V6 (LOVED that thing)
68 Scout 342 Auto (tough as nails, but my kidneys still hurt and 8mpg)
79 Scout 342 4sp (tough as nails but with AC and nice ride)
83 IH 3-4 ton truck with 392 Auto (TANK inherited from my grandfather)
89 Four runner 22RE 5sp (one of the best rigs ever made)
84 Four runner 22RE 5sp (a bit crude compared to the later ones)
8X Four runner 22RE Auto (POS)
92 Nissan Pathfinder V6 Auto (more power than toyota)
88 Nissan PU, 4cyl 5sp (boring as hell)
93 Toyota EXT cab PU, V6 5sp (Japanese Cadillac)
88 VW Westfalia SYNCRO Van (FREAKING AMAZING!!!!)
81 Toyota longbed Pickup 22R 5sp (Needed springs and everyone passed me!)
8? Subaru 4x4 wagon (surprising!)
67 FJ40 stock 6 and 3sp (project in progress)
76 FJ40 Stock 6 and 4sp, (future project!)

Yes, your right I know nothing about modern american muscle motors that come in boxes. I know 4x4 is a different ball game, but I lost my taste for American muscle when I bought a grey market, 85 928 Eurospec Porsche, once you drive a car like that, if you have any real feel for machinery you will realize that American muscle cars are a fashion statement at best.

I rather imagine that the current, modern "LT1" bears little resemblance to the original.

Man them are some big ol´tires you got there Scott!

Mark...

No worries! Love it! will be water proofing the computer down the road (before the fall mud season). The LT1 with TPI is anice set up with the tranny granny & stock Tcase. Good crawl and lots of power in all regimes.
