Has anyone been able to replace the entire carpet? Mine is disgusting. Who did you use?
Search came up with these...
http://www.all-car-carpets.com.au
http://www.sor.com/cat342d.sor - Called but was told they dont have LC100 carpets.
http://www.bedrug.com/ - Dont really have carpets.

How has it been holding up and what was the price for the whole carpet?

This is what im dealing with, but in more places and much darker then the pics shows.

{clears throat}

Buc, Do a search on threads I posted about swapping out the cargo area carpet. I replaced my cargo area carpet with Bedrug proseries but I worked some angles and bought it from them directly. My expectations were exceeded with my solution, and it worked for two reasons
  • BedRug Proseries was the best product
  • My upholsterer was top notch.
My cargo area was repeatedly being dumped with
a)gunpowder
b)chemicals
c) food and drink stains.
It wasn't going to last long. I believe it would be very feasible to replace the entire carpet with BedRug ProSeries, though other options exist. Most notably marine grade carpet. You'll need to contact the BedRug contact I mentioned in my other thread. There are certainly other options, but this is most durable.

Hope that helps..

k, i found your thread:

Did you ever find a carpet for the rest of the floor? Hows the bedrug holding up? I have a local classic upholsterer i called but they did not have the LC100 carpet. I will call and see if they would install if i buy the carpet.

The remaining carpet is in decent shape. It''s lower down the priority list. It will be a tossup between the bedrug and something my upholsterer suggests, but there were a good list of marine carpet suggestions that would have worked. Matching it to the plastic will be the challenge, but I examined some marine carpet samples that I liked quite a bit.

Interestingly, when you remove the front carpet, it's a fairly straightforward pattern. My upholsterer believed it would be a relatively easy job. If I've learned anything in this, it's that auto upholstery isn't for the amateur and the pros can work wonders.

The product in the cargo area has been exceptional. Given my propensity for dumping a variety of sticky or foul smelling liquids in the cargo area, it is much more convenient to simply wipe it up with a wet towel rather than having to shampoo or clean a carpet that has long since gone to waste.

If I've given anything to the LC100 community it's my willingness to experiment with cargo area carpeting and my good faith belief that my current product choice and implementation are an improvement on the stock carpet. So I've got that going for me:)

Looks great. Did you install yourself or take to a shop? How hard was the install?

El Cid-whats the name of the shop in DFW? Do you have a price yet?

Cal's upholstery in Fort Worth does really good work as well. I've used them to replace panels on seats (outboard bottom and top) and they can get color and texture pretty close.

Well i sent them an email a few minutes ago. I told them about the work they did for you. Did they keep your seat covers? Wondering if ill need to send mine in also?

I'm visiting a classic restoration shop tomorrow for them to look at doing the whole carpet. I will post what they quote.

Any reply?

Ha! Thanks for the reminder... no they have not responded back and i cancelled the carpet work as i need to do the timing belt and cracked/exhaust leak manifold.

Anyone got a number? The only contact they have is via email.

Received an email from lseat.com. I sent them a pic of the seats and asked if they would do group buy. Asked if they did vinyl too. I found this place and sent them an email asking for samples for seats and carpet which they provide if you fill out a form.

Well they replied back and said they can do the seat. I asked if they did vinyl to but did not get a firm answer. Below are my questions to them...i tried to cover all bases. They also said no on a group discount. Probably goes there pretty cheap as is.

So you can do vinyl and leather?
What are the prices for each [vinyl and leather seats]?
Do i send you the leather off the seat or cut out a piece and send that?
The pic makes the leather look darker then it is how do you know its the right color?
Do you have or need the color code to match?
Is there a number to call instead of emailing?
Do i give a deposit to begin work?
How long does it usually take and is there shipping charge?
What is the shipping charge to *****?

We'll do they have a pattern to work off of our do you send them the old cover (seems like they should have a pattern)?

lsea.com is not a quality job product, ye it is new and new looks well compare to old , but hide that they are using is good for the house sofa not for the automotive industry , their hide in 5 years will look worst that your 15 years original covers, so retain your OEM seat covers. I am dead serious. I had them send me seats cover for LX450 after inspecting them - I do not even want to waste my time on labor - send them back for the refund.

Here is the latest from lseat.com

$199 for vinyl
You have to send complete seat covers to us.
We can send leather swatch to you.
You do not have to pay for the deposit if you could provide your old seat covers to us.
2-3weeks turn around

So anyone that has the seat covers for an LX for color did you order to get the closest match? I'm ready to order a set and have had bad luck in the past with trying to match colors based on a picture on the internet.
Thanks for the advice.

Vinyl floor is an option. You can get it from vendors in Australia. Try ebay.australia.

I searched www.amayama.com last night for leather bits like for the seats. Showing as available but yikes it is expensive! Carpet showing available too but about $1200 for the front and rear.

Cheers
