Last summer I completed my LS/NV4500 swap in my 87 FJ60. It's running great but I need to upgrade the cooling system before next summer. I've read a few threads about the subject and am leaning towards a Griffin Radiator....excellent quality but big $$. Anyone have a recommendation with a similar quality radiator that you have experience with? I also need to upgrade my fan shroud. Looks like most build their own but my metal fab skills are minimal. Looking for a recommendation here as well. Is there a vendor that may sell these, or even better, a vendor that sells the radiator and shroud as a kit?

Thanks.

Talk to @NCFJ as he recommends Griffin radiators, Stan and I have talked about it some and the logic is clear, this is the life blood of the engine so why skimp on something that could ultimately cripple your engine?..
For shroud there is a DIY shroud from summit that has been recommended a few times.. p/n SUM-380457-SH best part is it is only $60!

I agree that the radiator is a key component to the engine and noticed Griffin was mentioned numerous times in past threads. Thanks for the Summit part number...I'll check into it!

4 core brass tank OEM style replacement radiator. you'll have to find someone local probably to help you fab a shroud.

I've got the stock rad with home made fiberglass shroud on my 5.3l Vortec. Drove it last summer in 100+ temps and it cooled brilliantly. Leads me to believe it's all about the shroud.

Good Luck!

I agree in part......radiator is half the equation, the fan shroud is the other half. I'm waiting for those folks to chime in who believe that a fan shroud is decoration...

Here is mine I made it from fiberglass... works nicely!
