Thought you guys might like to see another amaurer DIY adventure.......
So a while back, being extremely cheap, I made a center console according to some Tuffy dimensions I found online. I modified them a bit to fit a CB radio I had laying around, and built the box out of particle board coated with bondo for a smooth surface and then spray painted. It looked like this:

So it turns out........ I hated it. For one, I don't know how you guys with the Tuffy console do it, but it was irritating for me to shift into 2nd and 4th - my arm would touch the top of the box while shifting, and it annoyed me to have to shift with my wrist. Second, I have right-hand drive, and I need to scoot across the seats to reach parking tickets/ drive thrus/ ATMs from time to time.
I couldn't shorten the box though, since its height was set by the length of the CB radio. Or could I... A few hours with the dremel and the soldering iron and I put a 90 degree bend in my CB:
Then I put the whole console I made under the knife until I was left with this. Added an inverter onto the back for s***s and giggles and voila, I'm finally happy with it:
