#1-130 PSI, #2-122 PSI, #3-125 PSI, #4-130 PSI, #5-125 PSI, #6-90 PSI. NORMAL IS 171 PSI WITH MINIMUM AT 129 PSI. 1-5 ARE AT MINIMUM SPECS WHILE 6 IS WAY BELOW. FOUND SPARK PLUG CRUSTED AND RADIATOR 1 GALLON LOW ON COOLANT.

Hi, have engine diagnosis and this looks like blown Headgasket common on the LC80. If so, how much would it cost to have it done at a shop? any LC80 shop in Los Angeles area I can take to? Thanks!

It's entirely possible, although I wouldn't say a failed head gasket is common on the 80. I have two that don't have any problems and one that I replaced the head gasket on last summer; I know it was mistreated before I bought it.

The plug on the number 6 cylinder should be steam cleaned, if the gasket is toast. If done at a shop, you mean a mechanic's shop that'll remove your head and send it to a machine shop, that's one price. If you mean an engine builder that'll remove the head and do all the work in house, that's another entirely.

Machine shop work - cleaning, disassembly of the head (with only valves, and cams installed), milling the head, grinding the valves and seats, installing new valve seals and using the old shims, lifters, etc. shouldn't be more than $1k (it cost me about $750).

Mechanic work - removal of the throttle body, upper/lower intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds and breaking the various sensors in the process, markup for sending the head out for you, putting it all back together - probably $1k, plus the parts they broke during disassembly.

Maybe $2.5k?

What’s the condition of the oil?
What’s the exhaust smell like?

Two LC shops in LA - K&H in Canoga Park, Glendora Import Specialist in Glendora.

K&H has a long backlog but probably the best LC shop in LA. Glendora Import was good on my rear main. If you are up for doing it yourself, Martin Davidson in Van Nuys is the machine shop that did the head on my 2F last summer, wouldn't go anywhere else.
