Recently replaced the cabin air filter.

2x checked to make sure I did it correctly.

HVAC fan in dash now making a loud humming noise when AC is on max.

Anyone know what my issue is?

You can drop the squirrel cage fan out the bottom to see if something is stuck in it. Or if it needs changing due to a bad bushing or something, same process.

Just do your research.. I seem to remember someone here had issues with an aftermarket fan bolting in but the wiring being different..

Probably have something in the fan.

Although mine is “loud” occasionally and it has nothing in it mine has 300k on it so I’ll order one from Toyota one day.

Thanks guys.

Was a little panicked about something being potentially broken when I initially posted.

After doing research now makes sense it is either debris or needs new fan unit, which I have ordered and will replace preventatives.

Did the replacement the other day - pretty straightforward.

My park assist (cameras, sensors) went down after the install - I went back in and unplugged and plugged back in the wires that go into the ECU (silver metal panel immediately above the plastic kick plate) and all is well now.
