Gents the keys to the 75 FJ45 are gone. Right hand drive imported from NZ. Do I need to take apart the passenger door to get to the door lock cylinder for the code or can a locksmith cut a new key from a code that is on the ignition cylinder?

I've never had an ignition cylinder out before so I'm not sure if it has a code on it as well that a locksmith can use rather than me taking apart the door.

i was able to take my ign cylinder out without my key. my locksmith was unable to make a key with just the ign cylinder though

i didn't! i found it :/ that being said there is a company that will make keys for you... but you need to know what the code was on your key so they can cut the pattern. I can't find the website at the moment though
