I just got my Slee front panhard weld-in adjuster in the mail. I dont have enough welding experience to trust myself with something vital like this, pus my welder is on the fritz right now. Anyone have experience with welding who could install this thing? I can bring the cruiser to you if need be, and I would pay you whatever you feel is fair. I think a fab shop would probably turn down a job this small. PM me if you can help me out. Thanks!

James

Hi James,
I can't weld for you, but I've had good luck with a welding shop down in PB, at Cass and Tourmaline. No job too small for them in my experience, and reasonably priced. I walked in and had them just drill a couple holes for me once :) Not sure they'll do suspension work, but maybe worth a try.

I can weld, but would recommend you use a professional for this. You want a pro quality welder (3-phase, AR, etc...) and someone that welds a lot.

I have a decent 1-phase mig w/CO2 and will be doing the same thing soon, but will have a buddy do the welding at his shop.

Do you think they could plasma cut my rear cross member for the Sleet 2" hitch to go through?

Cool man, glad I could help. Hopefully they can weld that right up for you.

Heya' Blue, I don't know if they can plasma cut that for you. I only ever had them do piddly little cut this and drill that type stuff, but I saw them doing "real" work too. They were always friendly and helpful so give 'em a call!

You could always borrow my angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. That's how I did mine and then just touched up the edges around the whole and painted it. :hillbilly:

I have a Dewalt Grinder but thought it would take more than that to do the job. I'm in no rush, I don't have the Slee receiver hitch or the travel trailer yet. I guess I could drill a hole in all (4) corners so I don't get the excess cut on all the corners from the 4" wheel.

I second D and CQ in PB....good guys. No sure how much technical welding on vehicle experience they have, but they can weld.
