Well I've been on this site a lot here lately reading about other peoples builds, setups and so on.. This site has more information than any FSM has! I'm glad I can come and be a part of it! 1st post!l Anyhow, I've been seen this cruiser up for sale a couple times. What I would like to get out of this post is a "roundabout" idea of what it is really worth. Every time it's listed I notice the price comes down a chunk.
Couple things I know about it:
`Bezel is on upside down. :wrench:
`PO did the paint, supposed to have no rust under the diamond plating. :hhmm:
`4 speed trans
`Sag pwr steering
`Front shackle reversal
`4" lift

Owner doesn't know much about it at all. I've deduced the above from pictures and talking to him some. So he can't tell me much about it at all mechanically. I have yet to go see in in person, so if I can arrive at good price I will see if he can swing it and then go check it out. They are asking $8000:eek:. Here are a few pictures:

Thanks for checking this out and I appreciate any feedback!

its only worth what someone will pay. remember he kepts coming down in price so bring cash and start low remember cash talks. dont go high stop low and walk away see how desprite he is. dont give in make final offer and if he says no give him phone number and say call me when you decide remember no one is buying things right now times hard.

Thanks for the suggestions! I hope he comes down enough for me to get it! BTW I'm enjoying your build!! You have some amazing skills, I'm not worthy!

The diamond plate on there is in some of the usual rust spots. If you go to check it out in person crawl underneath and have a close look at the coverd areas from the other side. He might be right on the "no rust" issue but why would anyone put diamond plate on if not to cover rust? Be suspicious.

Assume there is rust under the diamond plate. What about the rear sill which looks black? True one quick underneath and you'll know. If there is rust then you'll have some bargaining room.

No spare tire, knock $500 off right there.

Don't make my mistake crawl under the dash the seats and floors. And all make sure they didn't just paint a cancer patient. Do you get a hard top. Theres a chunk right there. But it sure photos well. Take a magnet.

Yeah it does photo well. Hope it's not rotten under that paint!

My #1 priority will be to get under it and basically look at the back side of anything for rust, patch panels, fiberglass, bondo or anything else being hid by the paint. I've seen and read enough on here that I should be able to identify the engine, trans, transfer and so on.

It does come with a 1/2 cutaway door and a full hard door, but no hard top or spare tire holder or spare tire.

IF it was a rust free or properly repaired body under the paint, it looks like a $5K rig from the pics and description. The soft top windows look shot. If the engine was fresh, clean, and wired properly, maybe a little more. Just an opinion.

Good luck, it is a buyers market at this point....

Yeah, I believe the soft top has shrunk and is brittle. That's not a big deal I can get a hard top for it locally, but it makes another point towards a lower price.

I'll should touch base with him today and see what he can do on the price.

Thanks!
