Norm - Congrats! Now start your own project thread!

 on the new rig Norm! A little more info on your goals would be helpful, the mods will be very different between these two? :D

New 40 goals

Thanks Carl and Kevin. Project thread will be forthcoming as soon as some more parts get nailed down.

I'm thinking more like Kevin's example 1 but capable to crawl too . Long term: 33" to 35"s, 4" lift, discs front and rear, lockers front and rear, re-gear, maybe Aussie 4 speed, keep a Toyota power plant, and power steering. Right now: engine, ps, and front discs. It'll have to be a budget project at first. Body will stay original.

I need a good, inexpensive upholstery shop in Phoenix as I want to get the bench seat re-done. My last one had Camero buckets and I really like the 3 way bench (probably not ideal for wheeling though).

Do yourself a favor and dump the bench NOW if you intend to wheel it! They are way too springy, offer NO support and will wear you out in a flash on the trail. Just about any other seats will be better and probably cheaper than reupholstering that POS!

Claudia gits-r-done in her rig, it's outfitted about like your specs.

NICE! Her's is the same color as my old 40.

Saginaw or Mini-truck Pwr Steering?

I've seen several 40's where people installed Accord seats - looked good and lotsa room. Scan junkyards for a wrecked Honda.
