Would a 1970 split bench style front seat work for you?
Not really, the seats changed in 1968 and I need the style from a 1968 or earlier. Its interesting my bench is in great shape except for the back of the driver seat so I may have to just do some steel replacement on mine if I can't find the right year

I looked at the FJ25 and early FJ40 driver's seat and the back is definitely different. It's short and only has two ribs. I know the 10/69 FJ40 shared the same seats as my 9/67 FJ40. Early 68 driver's seat is long gone. The early 70 is in another location. May have pictures of the seat on a hard drive. I did confirm the FJ40 and FJ45 of that had the same drivers seat

Did you check with Classic Cruisers in Salida, CO? That's where I sourced the driver's and passenger's seats for my 67 FJ40. Good Luck. Oh and be sure and check for the body side brackets unless your tub still has them, and the toolbox clips.
