looking for a hard top to a '66-73. FJ40, four major peices, two sides, a top and a hatch. Looking for full or pieces. Any help would be appreciated. Phoenix, will travel.

I saw this but it doesn't state thee year. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/pts/5006998076.html

kinda pricey?

It is pretty pricey. That guy was originally selling two SBC conversion project 40's as a package and was asking $18k IIRC. I tried to buy a couple things from him but he refused to break up the package then. I think time and frustration has convinced him to move the pieces. A decent offer would probably be considered after all this time.

It's pricey until you consider these are very hard to find in this condition. Frankly I'm surprised it's still available.

I have one, and since i just got some soft top hardware, i was considering selling my hardtop hardware.

PM me and we'll talk. im located in tucson.

The ad had been deleted now but remember it was a 77 and up top which would required some mods for a rear hatch or a tub modified for ambulance doors which neither a hatch or ambulance doors were shown in the ad. Plus a incomplete top priced over $1K is not a easy sell in AZ. In the past I purchased a 75/76 top and 77 top for $400. Both rust free. The price included ambulance doors for both tops. Since that time the interest in 40s seems to have dropped in AZ. Back then a 80 was still to high priced for the average person to pick and possibly damage off road. A lot more people from AZ post in the 80 section than the 40/55 section. On the average run you can usually add up all the non 80 series vehicles and X2 to equal the 80 series. I know a few AZ 40s have done well at the January auctions but believe those were all bought by out if state buyers.

I had a top for the OP but it's in pieces and fiberglass piece is buried. Rain gutter needed worked but it wasn't priced anywhere near the $1K mark. Even if I got it dug out pretty sure he is in a apartment and a project hard top wasn't a option. But the offer still stands.
