Thanks for a very well timed bonus at work this week I can get back to work my my 40. I had gotten to the point where pretty much everything was costing money I just couldn't justify spending.

Now that I can, I need to start looking for an engine and really want to avoid the whole craigslist thing. While I have no real problems with a crate motor, I am hopeful I can find something that is for the most part complete and in good shape for less. The more I can save, the faster I can get everything done. :-)

If anyone has a lead on a good motor, let me know. I really want to go with a TBI, but wouldn't pass by a great deal on a good non-tbi.

what is wrong with a 2F

I hear that well-tuned 2Fs are the shiznit and haul ass :flipoff2:

I got a complete good running TBI 350, with the wiring, and serp setup on the engine still. the wiring has already been seperated from the truck harness, Everything is still on the engine on my stand. truck had about 200k, but the engine was supposed to have been replaced at some point, I could run the 3's to see if it's a replacement or not. ran good.

I am leaving for MOAB in the am, so i'll be back tuesday night if you are interested.

I have absolutely zero interest in staying with the inline 6. I think that has pretty much been discussed to death in another recent post here. :-)

Scott, if you are determined to go for a 350, this is your opportunity

Jason has been a great help to Michael/ChaseTruck on his Dana 60 install  he's excellent people

I think we still owe him a nice dinner :o if not more :D

Depending of what you are asking for it, I am interested.

fair enough - like I care :meh: :flipoff2:

granted, the conversion is cheaper and TBI is more modern

good luck

You can buy the 350 that's in my 40. Come with a free 40 attached to it.

I have an entire, great running, 94 Chevy 3/4 ton truck for sale. pm me for price and details.

I'm trying to get stuff out of my garage, not add to it. :-) Have no idea what I would do with everything left over after pulling the motor out!

you can scrap it for a couple hundred bucks I would imagine. When ever I demo a house I scrap the metal. Last time an old cast iron tub got me almost $30 alone so I imagine a whole car would be worth a little bit. It was kinda ironic because what I got in scrap ended up just about covering the landfill bill.
