Hey All

I am in need of a fabricator to build a custom tool for a project at work. If anyone knows of anyone reliable I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks

Pete

What sort of tool? My machine/fab shop isn't set up for that sort of work yet but I have purchased fab work in the area in the past. I used to work for Reliable Castings in the Tooling Division over on Spring Grove Ave as a designer/engineering type dude. Used to buy stuff from quite a few shops in Cincy.

Sir Jim,

I'm picking up a CNC mill the middle of next month. I figure on having it running (and having a clue how to make it run) by the end of April. I'll be heading to NJ to trade labor for a manual lathe the first two weeks in April. Otherwise I have a new tube bender with an 1 3/4" tube die on the way. Plus the pile of other machines that will be brought online as time and money permit. I'm working toward having everything in one place and running by the end of summer. When all is said and done there is a CNC mill, 3 lathes, a horizontal mill, a surface grinder, a drill sharpener (for drills up to 3" dia.), and stick, MIG and TIG welders. I'm sure I've forgotten a few pieces but that covers the big stuff. :hillbilly:

Are you still looking to make more idler pulley assemblies? Need any air cylinders? We bought 5000 lbs of used air and hydraulic cylinders. We're keeping a few for projects but have plenty to sell on to the next guy... :grinpimp:

Short answer: depends what you need done. I can do some stuff now. I can do more as the machines get set in place of course. Needing to use the machines tends to move the process along!

Nick let me know if you would like some help on a Sat/Sun trying to make room for all that stuff in the barn. I'm sure I could sneak over there to help for a day. I hope the rockbox doesn't come up missing ;) after we move stuff around.

Hey Marty,

I'll have to make sure that Rockbox is well hidden before you come over next time I see! ;) All this stuff goes in my brother's basement so no need to shuffle stuff in the barn. Shop will be air conditioned at the house ya know! :grinpimp:

Ooooohhhh....That will be nice. Well if you need some help let me know.
Rockbox is in the second aisle, 3rd shelf up on the left hand side.

Well, Jim, that's ONE way to get the mill in the basement. Given it weighs somewhere just north of 10K I'm sure the kitchen floor would not last long. But I think in the long run it would be easier to use the garage door on the end of the house. Pretty convenient to have a walkout basement when you wanna fill it with machine tools. :grinpimp:

Nick makes tire carriers too.

hoping to pick mine up in a week or so..

Anyone want to buy a short bus?

Nick.....

I am wondering if you have your shop up and running?

I am in need of a few items for my 80?

If I can get your email, I could send you some pics of what I have in mind.

Thanks

Pete

If your still looking for a fabricator in the area let me know. I live in Middletown and my shop is decent. I can TIG, MIG, plasma cut, pretty much manipulate any metal.

I have been a lurker on the board for a long time. I dont own a cruiser yet... I currently have an '02 4Runner. But my next project will be a 40.
