What about a Nissan? Altima or maxima, you get mid to upper 20's mpg and great reliability

Sent from my Droid thingy using IH8MUD

My wife has an Altima and it is the most uncomfortable car in the world. My uncle had one too and sold it because it was uncomfortable. They are reliable though. Timing chain, well built motor, and relatively well built all around. But gawd they are uncomfortable.

Altimas are a no go...newest last 2-3 years may be ok but the 00-06-07 were horrid from what I know. My friends that work at jack Ingram in mintgkmery worked on a few each day. Many within the first 20-40kmiles

I had a '90 Infiniti M30 back in the late 90's that was on its second engine and third transmission by the time I got rid of it. It ate a timing belt at well under 100k, (like mid 60's if I remember correctly) and the transmissions just kaboomed for no apparent reason.

Other Nissan stuff might be ok, but that one really turned me off on them in general. It kinda sucked too, because it was a fun little car. Based on the Nissan Z car, and had electronic controlled suspension. It was kinda piggy on weight, but it drove nice.

I don't know anyone who has had good luck with Nissan.

I read a lot of good things about saturn cars. And the few people I know who owned one all swore they get 40mpg +

Sent usin the "new" app.

The older Saturns were well built because one crew built the entire car. My brother had one in college that got him to over 280k worry free miles and got 36ish mpg around Atlanta. I had friends that had the newer ones and it seemed they always had a power steering pump or water pump our alternator going out.

What I finally bought. 1999 Miata. Much fun to drive, delivers 30 mpg even with the occasional running through the gears, and is easy to work on. Downside is it has almost no storage space.

How many turtles will that thing hold in the trunk anyways????

500 hatchlings or 0.482 alligator snapper, and it can't ride in the passenger seat.:D

Interesting tidbit on the one that made the news. The first time I caught it I took it to Auburn so students could see it and I hauled it in the cargo area of my 60. I spent a good bit of time looking over my shoulder to make sure it had not climbed the back seat.
