Hello,

I have been searching for a locked rig for some time now. I believe I may have found the one. 96 LX450:princess: , 126,000mi, locked. Lived it's life in Santa Fe then Tuscon then Phoenix. The Lexus Dealer showed that it had the 60K done and a butt load of regular oil changes. I haven't paid the money for Carfax yet.

The current story on it is that it is owned by a Toyota Mechanic who got it for his wife one year ago but her job has changed and she drives all over so he got her a sedan.

He says he has recently done the plugs, fluids, front bearings (not a full birf job) and it has new brake pads.

He's asking 13K OBO, KBB shows 10,225 for one in good condition.

I'm hoping for a good condition rig for about $10K give or take.

Would really love to hear from a local who would be generous enough to take it for a test drive? PM me or answer here.

Thank you,

TR

You have an address?

Trader? Where's it listed? You got about 30 or 40 of us here in Phoenix that might be available to look at it for ya.

I do not have an address but the guy mentioned he works in Scottsdale. his phone numbers are 602-579-4124 and 602-485-4545. His name is John and is a very nic guy on the phone.

My wife had a friend in Phoenix who would look at it, but I got talking about lockers and oil leaks and the next thing I knew, I lost confidence in this guy. I would much rather have a "Cruiser Head" looking it over.

Thanks to anyone who can take a peek,

TR

I know that cruiser..I mean LX 450...and had it checked out by another cruiser head...I almost bought it but went a different direction for other reasons.

All in all it is as advertised...(at least it was when I check it out a few weeks ago). Everything was in good working order and didn't need much of anything...trunions in a year or so though :)

Perhaps Troutrunner and the 'cruiser head' who already checked out the truck could be hooked up. Just a thought.

"The cruiser head" is a FJ60 owner and mechanic at Bell Road Toyota...though I think he is out of town (camping or something) this weekend. Let me try to find out. If you want me to call you...pm me.

Thanks for the help guys. I got someone to look at it and decided to get it. He budged a little on the price but threw in a trunion kit that I can use when I get it perform a front axle overhaul.

Thanks!

Now I'll start saving for a lift and tires.

Hey TroutRunner,

Congrats on the purchase. Also wanted to say that if you're in town around the 17th of this month to pick it up, why don't you drop by our club meeting. You can find all the info by following this link.

Wow, thanks for the invite:cheers: but I plan to come out on the evening of the 20th.

Maybe in the future, I can make the trip back for some wheeling.

TR

So... we can wheel on Tuesday too!
