Im just worried on how hard it will be to set up the PS. He has a IH PS in it now (not sure if it was ever working with that setup), what is a bolt on replacement that will work well? I agree paint would be a good chunk of cash, but I'm not lookin for a show car paint job, I think there is a shop down the street that would do a good job on the cheap and I like the idea that I will get to choose the color. Man sounds like I'm trying to talk myself into buying this thing, but you are right, it's a little too high. I might throw him a price and see if he goes for it, otherwise I will just wait and see what else comes up. One last thing, he has everything for it, but at this stage would it be better to throw in an aftermarket wiring loom in it instead of the old stock one even if it is in good shape? Thanks

Just put my car up for sale on CL to fund a FJ40 project, if it sells I'm all in. Beer and captain for whoever finds me one.

Man Phil, I wanted to buy yours (it was cool as hell), just wasn't sure about switching the axels and everything back to make it a daily street driver. Glad you sold it.

beer? how much are wea talking about? I know this guy north of you that has a few cruisers and might off a tired red 1972.

his family doesnt want him to get rid of it but he is sick and tired of his collection of crap..

but the beer always tempts him. in fact down right motivates him..

Guys, I ended up buying a cherry 1992 Jeep Wrangler with a 4cyl and AC! Just kiddin, if everything falls right ill be picking up a 77 FJ40 this weekend. Thanks for all insight, I might need help steering at it parked in my garage and will supply as much beer as can be drank!

Not the green one, thinking the old red one. Green will possibly go in spring if i get a bug up my ass. Working on grabbing that old farm house so space issues are over. But i might get something for myself and towable behind rv. Just thinking things over.
My kids are not interested in my cruisers, besides the big red one. That bing sadi, why have them is my thought. Might just keep the tuned port one and get some cage fab and other minor mods done just so i love it again.

$$$$ell the Green one! DON'T sell the old red one....you will fall into a deep depression and start drinking heavier, and for what? Its not worth s***. Either tweek the wheeling one or sell it and build up the old red one, and wheel it.

I have spoken.

Ah the elusive YJ....I sense you are not man enough to own such fine piece of americana and engineering. The finest Jeep had to offer! And since we have established Jeep as the best of the best....Then by common sense, this is the best of the best of the best.

If you want the best of the best of the best of the best....you need a Sahara YJ!

The green one is worth a ton of money to keep. Have you ever seen what a psychiatrist charges? You could gain serenity just by parking a chair in front of the green one and spending the evening drinking and looking at it. In times of big stress you take it for a ride. That's actually kind of a gamble. It may cause more stress when you have to walk home. But, that's exercise and that's supposed to be good for you too.

The green one serves no purpose, and it is a pile of cash that only gets driven twice a year, tops. The rest of the time it sits under a cover, and the only thing you can see are the BLASPHEMOUS wheels!!!. I say sell it, get the money in nickles, fill a pool with them, and if you feel down go for a swim.

Besides, patina>shine!

Did I see the green one?
I remember the 2 red one's.

Then you did not.

Unless you are color blind, then maybe. Hard to say.

Eric, don't listen to Ginger. He's hoping you'll sell him the 40 for $20 and a couple of Heinekins.

And a back massage.

Unless you have been in his garage, or at his kids soccer game....not likely.

You sir are dead wrong!!! Its the renegade yj that you want!!! Those flares are:grinpimp:!!! If you are a real man swap the carbed 4.2L in there. At least with the 4cyl you can move the engine foreward to get a klune V reduction box so it will crawl and turn the AC in to aircompressor. The possibilites are endless with the best of the best, not this useless jap toyota crap!!

I thought I had a pretty nice FJ40 until I saw the green one....

I think that was my first Land Cruiser six to midnight experience after sitting in Eric's green 40.
