He's a "Land Rover guy". He must of sold the Cruiser because he needs stacks of $$$$ to work on all his broke down British s*** boxes. I can remember the day I bought a D1 thinking I needed a change from Toyota. What a joke!! That thing leaked just about EVERY fluid you can put into an automobile, stuttered, shook, and eventually overheated due to a bad HG. I sent it out to pasture and would rather buck up for a Yugo over ANY vehicle branding the Land Rover badge. Rant over.
Oh yeah, nice job on the resto crazygeek. Even though you claim "no affiliation" I'm sure you could tell a potential buyer volumes more on the build over the "Land Rover guy".
Seller--- "The paint and body work was done to a decent driver standard, and is not show quality. I have seen a few of these fully restored FJ40s and they all seem to have been to done to this same standard. One of them was bought for huge dollars at one of the prestigious Pebble Beach Auctions. So I guess this is acceptable to the FJ crowd."
"hard core Land Rover Guy" takes a shot at "the FJ crowd". Yes, imperfect paint is acceptable to Land Cruiser enthusiasts. What is not acceptable to us is never-ending fluid leaks, electrical problems and mechanical failures that make for an unreliable vehicle.
"seller ended listing because item is no longer available" Maybe he wised up and decided to keep it!
If he did, that would just make him another one of the many former LR guys that end up migrating to the LC world.
