I have the long rear jump seats, my question is dual seat belts on both sides? If so where to attach in the middle? If only single belts are used aren't they gonna be kinda pointless b/c of such a long belt especially for kids??? Anybody.....

Just one seat belt per side. This is early-1970 or earlier technology, safety was not too much of a concern. And if you have the long jump seats you most likely do not have a roll bar; so why worry.

True that brother its a 3/73 and negative on the roll bar but I do want to install one and do seat belts for the kids so they will be able to cruise as well. Sor has the roll bar I can purchase, as well as the seat bracket kit just curious since those seats are long enough for two.

They are made for two. Toyota marketed the early 40s as 7-pass vehicles. A substantial steel plate mounted from underneath the wheel well as a seatbelt anchor would probably be the ticket.

Nota bene: I don't know how old your kids are but state laws vary as to when and how kids can use them. For example, in Oregon kids cannot legally be seated in jump seats until they are over 40 lbs.

Duffontap thanks its kind of what I figured but I am in Texas so I guess I need to look into that, my kids are eight and five so maybe the weight thing would be ok, I'm still feeling no matter what they need seat belts IMO:) the plates under the wheel tub sound good to me if I went dual belts.

I have a 69 with a MetalTech roll cage. I want to use my long benches but can't. Wish someone offered a roll cage setup that works with older, long benches.

Sor.com has a spacer kit for long benches to be used with roll bars... Are you saying their cage doesn't work with this kit?

On my 72 the jump seat seat belts are positioned so that a passenger seated on the front half of the seat has a belt, while the passenger on the rear half doesn't. The seat belts anchor at the front of the wheel well and on the wheel well at the midpoint of the jump seat. When I replaced my front lab belts with three point shoulder belts, I installed the front seat lap belts on the rear half of the jump seats so that there are now two pairs of lap belts on the jump seats. I used the existing middle mount to anchor both the front half belt and the back half belt by stacking them one on top of the other. The rear half of the rear belt I attached to the wheel well using a backing plate on the underside of the wheel well to beef it up a bit.

This was one of those really nice almost no cost modifications that required only the drilling of two holes and about half an hour's work. And, since everybody on this forum loves a picture.....

I have two per seat on my 71. PO installed roll bar and I used one of his bolts that landed exactly I the middle of the seat on the wheel well.

Thanks y'all I think I've got a good plan I'll just buy the roll bar, get three point belts up front, and double the lap belts in the rear. Appreciate all the opinions.
