I was looking at all the logos in the TLCA and noticed a great deal of them had 40 series in them. I really liked the logo from GSMTR with the blend of trucks. It would show all of the trucks we have in the club. To put a design like that on top of a keystone ithe the club name might look good.

That was talked about earlier and if you remember how small the logos were while you looked at them you may realize that the "6 pack", as I call it, is too busy to go small. You'll need to use the logo small more often than you think.

Is there anyway to retain the idea but make it more logo friendly?

No. Not without sacrificing the larger version.

Without any real detail (because of reducing needs) it wouldn't have nearly the same look or impact.

Not to beat a dead horse but sometimes clients just need to see possible color versions that change things. These are just a variation. Not really a hard suggestion for colors. This is to see if it leaves the TLCA logo look out of it. Not a red 40 and no same colors. (that's a pis poor quick stab at the "mustard".)

If this isn't what you want then we will leave this Cruiser completely out of it.

Sorry, Rainman. I honestly didn't remember that the STLCA logo had a mountain and a bezel. I looked through them all a while ago. Honest mistake. I think the color change is a good idea.

What about the "4 WHEEL DRIVE" badge style with the 40 on top of a keystone in the rounded section and the text to the right of it? Kind of like the The Pacific Mountain Cruisers logo.

Being a stinker here, but I think keeping the logo simple will work best for the reasons Rainman noted above. Complicated logos blur and get AFU'd when trying to print them small and/or on shirts or business size cards. Ask me how I know.
I still like the concept of a crawlin' 40 coming out of the logo. And just the ALCA letters above a keystone.
And I still think the Keystone should be the prominent feature of the logo. Maybe somehow do a silhouetted 40 crawlin' out of the keystone instead of a colored one? Could even add the bezel to the silhouette in white, or another contrasting color, to give it some uniqueness?
Damn, why didn't I study computer graphics...
