Okay Andy,

I hope you like this. With a salute to the TLCA logo, this is the TLCA logo and Cruiser with an attitude. I think this pays tribute to the TLCA without using the actual logo and adds character to your chapter. I also hope this okay with the 60 and 80 owners. Should be. (If you really want me to, I can make the black as clean as the TLCA logo. That will take me quite a bit more time. If you can afford me.)

PS. The white sliver is a goof in the png file. No biggie. Comment away!

The ALCA words don't work very well on the keystone. I played with that a little and I just think all that makes a mess.

Then you end up with problems when it's printed small. Like in the Trails chapter section.

If you really insist on the keystone I'll get back on it but check and see what the others say.

Rainman, I really like how the 40 appears to be crawling out of the logo. My only comment is it might look just a little too much like the TLCA logo.

I agree Bill, looks a little too much like the TLCA's crest but love the crawlin' out of the logo concept. I'd like to see something more unique for us this time, something not so run-of-the-mill. We seem to be stuck on the round logo mock-ups and trying to incorporate the keystone somewhere in it? Maybe we should be looking in a different direction on this by getting away from round? We are, after all, based in the Keystone State.

And do we need the full club name in the logo?? "Appalachian Land Cruiser Association" is a mouthful to print legibly. How about a prominent ALCA above or below the main body of the logo??

Just throwin' some ideas out there...

I like it, but... I agree with Bill, it's not distinct enough...and I'm also kinda attached to keeping the keystone.
I'm fine with the vehicle being a 40...I mean an 80, cough, cough...nah, a 40 will be acceptable!

Okay guys I get the message.

Looking similar to the TLCA logo was deliberate. Take a look down the chapter logos on the TLCA site. This will give you an idea of how much the visuals of the logo need to stand up when used small. You'll see that there some nice logos, some fair logos, and some not so good logos. As a designer, I don't want to sound cocky or be pushy but I will be a little hard nosed about creating bad design. I do want you all to be happy and will work with you but I hope you will understand my position and maybe even respect my opinions.

ALCA would be easy to work with using the keystone. "Appalachian Land Cruiser Association" just plain doesn't. It almost certainly has to be separate. That weakens the design. Using the round badge inside the keystone looks like a design forced into the keystone just for the sake of the keystone.

Tell you what. If you want to use what you want to use, and use the words in the keystone and have it like the above post from Crusha, that's fine. But I won't allow you to put the Cruiser I did in it. I will tinker some more with this but I won't allow my work to be used in a design i do not agree with. I'm sure you can understand that. Remember, I do this for a living.

A new approach. (Re-drawn accurately of course.)

Appalachian
Land Cruiser
Association)

All,

I know that Mike from our meeting two weeks ago is working on some ideas as well.

Rainman, I greatly appreciate your help with this and understand your concerns on your work. From our side, we need to make sure most of the club members are in agreement on a design - hopefully we can come to an easy, quick decision.

I think we have enough ideas out there right now that we can hone in on what everyone likes.

We'll regroup and decide on a direction.

Thank you,
Andy

There are only 4 or 5 of us expressing opinions here on the logo and I KNO-O-O-W there are a bunch out there following this thread.

C'mon guys, lets hear from you. (yes...you) Wadda ya thinkin'???

Like the idea of being different than the TLCA logo. Also would like to incorporate the keystone. Ok with the ALCA if necessary to simplify the logo.

What if you kept the text the same as in post #41, but just made the 40 a little smaller and the center yellow circle a keystone instead? Maybe change the colors up, to not look so much like the TLCA logo? How about mountains and a bezel? Just throwin' stuff around...
