Dash light for rear locker blinks in High after the 7-pin mod but not in Low. Is this expected? Rear Locker light stay lit in low after blinking. Front locker stay lit after blinking as usual. Low or High

I don't think you can lock your rear in High. I've never tried. I only use my rear locker to get past an difficult spot and then switch it off.

I don't know in what situation you would want to do that, maybe high speeds in the sand? Sounds dangerous to me though. It seems it would be easier to break your rear-end loose if it was locked at high speeds.

The pin-7 mod allows an open center diff in Low, but it shouldn't affect the rear locker as far as I know.

You have an electric front locker?

Front electric locker

I intended to write center differential locker as opposed to rear, but I wrote front.
Mine is a 98 LC with both factory lockers. I can't find very much information describing the lockers except operation recommended from Toyota and 4 wheel buddies.
I wanted to do the modification (7 pin) to give optional control with differential selections and traction control beyond the scope of low speed setting only. Isn't this the idea behind mod. 7 pin.?

As I understand it, the 7-pin mod allows you to select the center diff...regardless if you are in 4Hi or 4Lo. As it comes from the factory you can only engage the center diff when in 4Lo...and I think it has a 5mph max speed when locked (I don't know if the 7-pin mod eliminates the 5mph max or not)(?).

Dude, welcome to the board! I'd suggest a bit of reading the archives before you try to dig in so as not to get in trouble. Be sure to get an FSM and an EWD if you're going to work on the thing. For ref, the 100 all came with CDL in the US IIRC. Also I doubt you'd have Trac Con on a 98.

The center diff lock is optional i.e. can be on or off in 4 High. It is on i.e. no option to turn off when 4 low is engaged. The rear locker will ONLY be optional in 4Low.

I am pretty sure that is right about the center dif and 4 low. I am positive about the rest.

You are right Juke...I was out trailin' today and got to play with the lockers. As soon as you drop it into 4Low the center diff becomes locked and cannot be unlocked as long as you are in 4Low. I will be doing the 7-pin trick soon.
