Location reverse switch/wire (manual gearbox) (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I want to install a rear view camera in our HDJ80. Now I need to connect a wire from the DVD-player to the lead of the reverse (so the DVD-player will change to rear view automatically). Can anyone tell me how to get acces to that wire in a manual car? I guess it will be accessible by removing the center console? Any pictures?

yes .. there is the rev swith in the pass side of the manual tranny H151 .. ?

Assuming your vehicle is wired the same as mine you need to do the pin 19 mod aka tap the reverse light signal in the left kick panel. I know there is a black and red wire in there that works but as of yet no one has been able to pinpoint which wire it is. See my previous thread:

Once it warms up outside (April-May here in Minot) I will go try to identify it.

This may be an old post but, I'm using the info today to wire in that single wire for the reverse camera to work in reserve. Thank you for the info, and thank you admin for not removing this thread, 8 yrs old and its still very handy.
