Nice! Just need to get some HID's in those holes! :)

That might be too much light;)

but that is the reason why I am making some metal inserts for the arb, the plan is to be able to mount Rigid Industries Dually lights or the blazer projectors from TRS, but I am getting carried away with details:D

Also made some mounting plates for the oem 100 series bumper so the factory fogs can be replaced with the same two lighting options mentioned above

Hey, I thought your were CE? That looks like a ME project (the waste plant, not your bumper!)

I am a CE! About to graduate and hoping to get an ME degree after I complete my masters degree in structural engineering or environmental engineering:D

As for the waste plant, it is an ME project, but they do maintain 3 or 4 CE's to inspect any structural deficiencies

Atta Kid! Keep up the good fight buddy! Contact RobRed when it comes time to do the 863's.

Dude, lookin good. ARB turned out great. Very interested in seeing what you're whipping up for the inserts before I buy fogs...

Thanks JB, should have it completely done by next week if midterms dont get in the way:bang:

Since I am planning out my swingout accessories I thought I'd post some of the parts I will be getting and update it as I go on with the thread. The main bumper was built by Mike at Bumpitoffroad. Have yet to receive it but want to start compiling stuff so I know where to get it later

2 weld in pins to keep the bumper open, and 2 weld in pins to keep it from opening should the latch unlock itself ($8.90x4=$35.60)
McMaster-Carr

Latches: 5071A53, 2000lb capacity=$25.05x2=$50.10)
McMaster-Carr

Spindles and sleeves: 2000lb heavy duty spindle($84.95x2=$169.90)

Options that I want to have on my tire carrier:

Davegonz did a receiver in his tire carrier, I want to do the same thing but then have some kind of receiver on the other swingout as well. So I can have a detachable cooler rack, gas can rack, and mini chest for recovery straps and "tools." I did some hand drawn sketches earlier because I was excited to be creative and learn along the way. This will be somewhat different from all the other swingouts we have available to us from the big three. As a comparison buying all the options that I want will be $2200 if I purchased them with a new bumper(maybe even more since I will add some other things that are not readily available).

I am off to the scrap metal yard tomorrow to pick up the 3x2 sections for the swing arms

Something like the basket below above the spare tire(Hanson Enterprise I believe is owner of the photo) would be a viable option for a small cooler and on the other swingout have a ladder with a jerry can holder and aluminum storage box, as I said details still being worked out:cheers:

Leo...the challenge with designing swing-outs is getting enough triangulation to support decent loads while keeping the swing-arms relatively low profile/low overhang in proportion to the outer edge of the bumper. Just be cognizant of this when you are in design mode...as you start placing weight on the swing-out arm, particularly up high with additional leverage to the mounting/pivot point you don't want to induce undo flex and subsequent vibrations particularly at highway speeds...

But since you're an engineer you're probably already on top of this :)

I am aware of what you mean Dan:) Thanks for the heads up, this project will let me use our loading and shear software at school! Or maybe I just want to use it for the hell of it! ;)

Good info regarding some install tips here

So I got a care package from Mike Crosby! Thanks for the free compressor and TTC DVD!

Decided to take on the project that I have been putting off for a while...

pics tell it all...I like how it comes with a free bag that I can now use to store the air hose and other tools like screw drivers, wrenches and pliers

How did you get that for free?

That was my bad! I meant the DVD was free. Mike contacted me regarding using my LED's in their show truck LX470. In exchange for a full LED interior setup and reverse lights, he gave the compressor.

The good ole mv50. Decent little compressor.

I was asking Darin about your mv50....did you wire yours directly to the truck or do you use the clamps?

I did not. I'm planning a more advanced compressor set up. The mv 50 is a temp solution.
