LJ78- 2lte Which one has the highest mileage?

Hi guys! I was just wondering, how many km's do you have on your "original" engines? I just passed 250km and still doing pretty good. Changed the injectors and runs much better now.
What do you think Wayne?
cheers Tomas

Nice to hear that all is well with your LJ78 however the "naysayers" are just going to say it will not make it to 400,000
or 500,000kms.:) .............1978HJ45 (1990 LJ78)

I know of a KJZ78 with 550000km on the clock, same engine and no head issues. This vehicle also travelled overland from Malaysia to London and return journey.

you have a sun roof on yours? nice I wish I had a sunroof! is that the chief in the background there?

i say, nice countryside you live in
250K is a good start, heres to another 250K without issue.

If I did not know better I would think you are starting to see the
glass "half full".:) .....1978HJ45

nah, but might as well be encouraging ... after all they are great trucks ... with a heart murmur.

With proper diet, exercise, and a good attitude, a heart murmur is seldom fatal.:) .......1978HJ45
Translation: don't run up steep hills, don't get hot and heed the warning signs of declining health. ( and to think I did not even attend med. school)

Hey, thanks... Yes I have sunroof and yes it's Chief in the background. I don't say, I don't have the usual flaws on mine, I just love the car :-)
Still dealing with smoking issues when starting cold. It was better after I played with the setting of the small plate in the EGR system. But now with new injectors in place, its back again. Anyway I enjoy the ride (not the cold starts) and I hope you do so as well.
cheers Tomas

Hi, Here is pic from the middle of the summer @6000FT around 4 years ago. Tough starting sometimes at high altitude when temp is below 10C

My prado has been across Canada and used to drive the Hope -Princeton daily for a couple of months before I landed my retirement job locally. This machine ran perfect until it got fxxxed by car theives.
It wasnt the head that I was worried about it was the 343 automatic from banging it in second second to keep the revs up and the EGTs down.

Just curious: When was the last time you changed your glow plugs? .........1978HJ45 ( 1990 LJ78 )
