Hey everyone,

I've got a 1990 Landcruiser LJ70 (UK Spec). I entered my car in an offroad competition and the cruiser had a fairly rough time this time!!

Driving back from the event, the car started pulling sharply to the left upon braking. Whether its mild or heavy braking it pulls real sharp. First thought was that maybe theres something lodged in the driver side front caliper. So i stripped it apart and cleaned out all the mud that was stuck in there. Checked all the pistons move freely - which they do - and refit everything with grease. Bled the front right and it looked like it seems to be working fine. Put everything back together but the problem is still there! On braking it pulls to the left real sharp.

I got the tracking checked, and it was within limits!!Also put the car on a roller to do a brake test, and that came back clean aswell.

The only thing i can think about is the bushes on the trailing arms..If one of them is knackered that would cause the axle to twist which would explain the pulling. Does that sound plausible at all?

Anyone got any ideas at all..?

Thanks

Jas

Nah if the bushes are gone its all over the road when you hit bumps, potholes etc. Pulling to the left/right is a brake issue. If you had lots of MUD are the rotors knackered or all ok Did you check rear also? Is there any brake fluid leaks. Is the axle seals leaking over the rotors etc.

Make sure ll the pistons are pushing and one is not STUCK is the brakes hot after driving - one will be hotter than the rest maybe.

Thanks for your reply..I opened the calipers up and they are all working fine..all pushed out and had a little bit of surface rust which i cleaned out, but still pulls to the left..No improvement whatsoever..

iv had a new handbrake kit fitted with new rear master cylinders and it still does it..

I had the same issue once and if I remember correctly I first had both front calipers rebuilt and front bearing adjusted which almost fixed it but it was still pulling a little then rotated the tires and that fixed it completely.

Hope that helps
