All,

Currently I’m (well my wife is) driving through WY with arms fully stretched out because my steering wheel didn’t auto lower and extend.

This has been happening with increasing frequency, the usual fix is stop the car, kill it, restart the car, et, voila. But we didn’t catch it before we got in 80 and it’s a ways to an exit.

Suggestions to resolve this so it’s not something that needs fixing every 4th or 5th start?

spitballing here:

Can she manually adjust the wheel with the adjuster thing on the steering column?

- do the seats/mirrors/steering wheel usually go back to normal when you restart the truck?do you manually reset the preset/settings every time?

- did you accidentally hit one of the “preset” buttons on the door?

Sometimes/often I hit the preset buttons getting out of the car. I got tired of having to fiddle with it so I set all 3 to “my settings” (im the only driver usually)

Manual adjust is a no. All creature comforts are operating correctly.

Stoped and “rebooted” it went away.

Mine has been doing this for a while, but only with the telescoping function. If I click the adjuster a bunch of times it can "walk" in and out. Sometimes the auto in-out fixes itself for a bit, only to resume not working. Thankfully where it decides to stop is fine for my driving position so I haven't looked at it yet.

When I did some initial research a while back the closest information I found was on the 100 series with similar sounding issues. It seemed like it could be resolved with a disassembly and some cleaning, worst case replacement of the motors and/or some position sensors if I remember correctly.
