does anyone have pics. of their FJ40 with LineX, i am thinking of putting LineX in my 1974. I will only put the LineX in the inside of the body. Just trying to make my Cruiser look great. thanks for any help. my email : stephenneal05@hotmail.com, thnaks. Stephen

I will send some pics of my 40 I had the whole inside done it turned out great

A little off topic but.... JONNYFJ, did you notice any change in the sound on the inside of the cab after the LineX was done (ie. did it get quieter). I have heard that LineX is a good sound deadner and wanted to get a first hand impression of it.

Sorry for the hijack

Hell yeah it works great for minimizing road noise and it controls heating issues I have with the conversion the best 400$ ever spent as far as I am concerned

Did you pull everything out yourself before taking it in? Did you prep the surfaces yourself?

No they did all the work. The Owner and I were friends I think for a 40 it would cost about 700 if they did the work 550 if you did the prep work. You can go the really cheap route and buy the kit from autozone, it comes out ok, but you need at least 3 coats. I did my 66 bronco that way when I was getting my PHD (Poor, Hungry, Determined to drive a Land Cruiser)

Sorry FJ40er for the HiJacked tread

I am taking it over to LineX of Conyers, they said it would be around $650.00 to $730.00, depending on what all I get LineX to cover.

That sounds about right did you get the pics?

Right now with the body completely off the frame I'm having my 79 BJ-43 done in Line-X on BOTH the underside exterior and the inside on the floor and wheel wells. I will post pics soon.

I sprayed the underside of my tub, hood and the floors of my 40 (not the interior sides or fenders, with Wurth SKS thru a shutzgun over 10 years ago now - it's held up near perfect and was waaaaaaaay cheaper than Linex. I could have put a few more coats on to build up to the thickness to be similar to Linex but didn't think it necessary. It looks fantastic. Given the price difference I just can't ever see spending that kind of money.

Now the bed of my pickup I might consider if I could be convinced that Linex is 10 times stronger than Wurth SKS.

Off topic - but for those on a budget Just my .02 cents.

The PO of my truck had LineX sprayed up to the point that the top comes off. It is a 69 like some of yours. I will try to get some pictures taken in the daylight.

The inside of mine was done with some roll on crap by the last owner. IT sucks, its flaking off all over the place. It did look good and worked well until it started coming off. Make sure when you do it get the good stuff or get the real line-x or it will look like crap after a few years.

The reason it flaked is because the previous owner probably did not prep it with the right chemicals. When I did my bronco, my neighbor brought me this can of of **** that burned when it got on you. He work at a shop that did bed liners, and told me, most people don't fork out the extra cash to do it right. Therefor they get a product that fails after a few years. I did my bronco in 98 and it still looks new. Key is every other coat you change the direction you are spraying or rolling, and read up on how to prep properly.

Just my 2 cents

Nice Job  that came out better than my for sure. duplicolor is a great brand and doesn't brake the bank

You are going to want to shoot the gas tank cover and tranny hump cover out of the rig or apply thin tape to the seams or you will play hell removing them after you shoot it.
