i just put my front turn signal assemblies back on and everything is working properly, except.......all the lights on the 40 are flickering almost with the idle speed. Like there is a draw in power, verses a constant power supply to them. I don't believe this is common, but wanted to see what some might think it is, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Greg,

There have been strings on this forum about electrical problems and so much of the time these can crop up from a bad ground to the frame and body. Check that and if that does not solve it you might check the regulator or output of the alternator.

Good luck,

Paul, in the mountain.

I just had the same problem on my 40. The other post hit it on the head. I went around and checked all of my grounds. After doing this and tightening the light mount on drivers fender, flickering was gone. Also, check where the wires go through the fender, my holes had no grommets. It hadnt rubbed through the wires yet but I rewrapped them and replaced the grommet. Might check that too. Hodag

Appreciate the input, i was thinking that could possibly be the problem. I am gonna go around and look at all the grounds sometime this week and see if that solves it.

Lzcruzombre....appreciate the windshield, worked out great...

my lights cut off while driving the other day :o

after tinkering it appears to be the switch ;)

One more idea to check. I had something like this problem in my 77 & it turned out to be the fuse holder clips being loose, so at idle w/vibration, it made the lights flicker but was fine while running around. Pinched the clips to hold the fuse tighter solved the problem.
