More slider progress

Today I was able to get the front drivers side mount finished up, and get the inner rail tacked to the mounts.

I placed the mounts and rail as close as I could to the body as I hope to do a 1" body lift from spressoman in the near future to help with tire clearance of the 315s.

Here are some pics:

My welds are improving, I've still got a ways to go with consitency, but I'm happy to be practicing and improving:

I hope I can sneak out of work early one day this week so I can get the passenger side done to the same point.

Then I just need to decide if I'm going to do a step, or a tucked up slider. I imagine based on the offroading the cruiser has seen this year it will be a step slider.

Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

I think he was referring to his V70R Volvo.

Correct but S60R, lol. I wish I could get that kind of mileage out of the hundy! I average 13-15 in the cruiser.

Looks fantastic man. Great looking welds, too! I'm thinking about reenlisting in the Reserves coming up here soon, maybe a TDY to Hill will be in my future at some point!

Thanks man! If you do end up coming out this way let me know.

Hey, sorry for the lurker/ newbie comments that I may start asking, but what size lift (in inches) is on this. It looks great and I am trying to research as much as I can before hand. Also, are your TBars maxed or is there room for more if you added a bumper?

It's about a 2.75" lift, T-bars still have quite a bit of room to lift the front end. My sig has all of the parts I used for the lift listed.

Good luck!

New goodies showed up today!

This build is looking good! Kudos to you for building your own sliders; welds look good too!

Are you going to install the ARB yourself?

Thank you, it's coming along slowly, but it's fun.

I am planning on doing the majority of the ARB myself, but I'm going to have a professional mechanic friend of mine help me set the pinion depth and backlash so I don't screw it up.

I've got a 4.5 gallon aluminum tank and a viar 480c compressor that I'll be using to power the air locker and provide on-board air. I'm hoping I can squeeze it all up in the area under the rear where the spare tire is mounted currently.

Do any of you have any experience with viar compressors? Should I put the air pickup inside the cab, or will it survive under the truck?
