Have Wit’s Ebd roof rack delete kit on my 97. How long will it last as the washers will eventually rot I would think from exposure to the sun and weather. Is there any treatment they need that would extend their life and or should I buy another set of washers and sock them away. Thanks for the opinions.

It’ll probably last longer than you own the car. I didn’t even put bolts in mine. I just filled it with RTV. 2.5 years later…. Still fine
If you are worried, find some vinyl that is a close color to the paint and apply it over the top to help keep sun and moisture out.
keeping rubber "wet" is never a bad idea.
IIRC, he chose a rubber product that is UV resistant and designed for outdoor use.

The analysis performed on the rubber elastomers yielded approximately 69 years of viability before any noticeable degradation was observed.
I went with a alternative product designed for fender flairs. My original riv-nuts were shot so order a pack off amazon, drilled for an m6 riv nut, installed, and no leaks.

Metal roof screw washer/rubber, as what I used, is rated for 30yr+ full sun exposure.
Recommend the same.
