I came in defensive because there's accusations of tax fraud, reporting to the feds and squawking from people not at all involved with the situation.
Any constructive feedback (hardware, thickness of grille, etc) is more than welcomed. I reached out to ArBrnSnpr via PM immediately, but haven't heard back.
I also offered anyone not happy a full refund, no restocking fee.
I don't exactly know what action is expected?
I don’t scold anyone. What I do is set expectations from the get go. The goal is to keep my email box manageable and not bombarded with “where’s my order” emails - while people that actually have a reason to contact me (change of address, swap nameplates, cancel order) are given more attention. As I said, there are 100s of you and one of me.

If you are removing a grille - it’s assumed you have hardware. If that hardware is rusty, a wire brush and brake cleaner goes a long way. If you want to buy new hardware that’s also an option.
I’m not a Toyota/Lexus dealer - I buy hardware from them just like you do. If I were to offer hardware as an add-on, that means I buy it for the same price you do, pay to ship it to me, hold that inventory, mark it up, charge you shipping, then pay to ship it to you. All this for hardware that 99% of people reused or could be purchased cheaper from a parts seller in the rare chance someone needed it.
Even you, yourself reused the OEM bolts, right?
But you want a refund on... what exactly? The bolts you reused?
I don’t have part numbers in front of me, but that’s a good suggestion - I’ll add that to the website.
If anyone wants to reach out and ask for a refund on hardware - I’m all for it.
If you live in California and buy rock sliders from someone in Colorado - that will cost you less in shipping than someone buying rock slider located in New York.
I enter dimensions and weights. The system does the rest when you place your order.
Out of the hundreds of grilles sold - there is exactly one person that has even mentioned this hood latch issue. I personally don’t have it, none of the test fitters had it and from your own reports, you don't have it:
...and I haven't seen photos of it (although they were requested).
What guidance do you want on the issue you're not having?
As for gaps, please show me photos. Did someone mention that in this thread? If you review the install video in the first post - which is also linked to from the website - you may need to loosen hardware / adjust. That's installing a part 101.
I leave the option for you to do whatever you feel is best. If you want to return it, I'll take it back.
All good recommendations. I'll add part numbers to the website, I'll tell people that if their bolts are rusty to clean them and tell people to install the hood latch in the same orientation as it was when they removed it.
If you review the install video in the first post - which is also linked to from the website - it covers every issue you mention.
Shipping charges 100% depend on where you are located in the country. As does taxation.
Shipping costs are whatever the system calculates using weight, dimension and zip codes. If I could fit these in a shoebox I would. However, some companies include the cost of shipping in the cost of the product (and tax you for that) and offer FREE or discounted shipping. Because there's such a variance from state to state, I don't do that. I could offer flat rate shipping of say, $50 and just hope it all balances out - but then customers in California are getting a discount on the shipping and customers in Tennessee are being charged more.
I don't see that as being fair.
...and if you're not beating your wife, you shouldn't worry about whatever investigation there is into it.
I'm 100% confident I am charging and paying my taxes correctly. It's the *idea* that people would take it to that place because they are not happy with supplied hardware on a product or upset shipping cost too much.
You really can't see the lopsidedness in that?
