You ended up just trading the LX in? Oh man i'm afraid to ask what the dealership gave you for your truck.

I did end up trading it in. I tried for 5 months to sell it on here, thinking it was in great shape. I finally had someone come check it out, they had it inspected, and it was leaking from the rack, front and rear seals, etc. It was just starting to deteriorate from sitting and I needed it gone. I took about 3k less than I was asking but got a really good deal on the GX.You ended up just trading the LX in? Oh man i'm afraid to ask what the dealership gave you for your truck.
The spindle definitely grew on me, I prefer it to the bugeyed look of the pre-refresh models. But it needs some help to be as capable as the LX - ground clearance is the main problem, so I’m going to start with tires and a lift and go from there. I’m waiting on that sweet GXOR bumper. I always wanted to mod out my LX, but was always dropping too much money on parts and repairs to ever get to the fun bits.Bittersweet I'm sure. The GX looks great. I'm a fan of the spindle grills on them, though I know they're kind of controversial.
Will the new truck stay stock? Any plans for it?
Congrats, and that's a very fair deal from a dealer given needs stated! Enjoy it, I know you guys will!I did end up trading it in. Oh I know in 10 years I’ll think back and wish I still had it. I’m glad I’ll have this thread to remind me during those times of just how much money and time it took to get it going and I’ll be thankful it’s just a memory.True. Fortunately, I’m never selling mine. I simply love it too much. Also, I’ve learned my lesson selling a couple I never should have and I’m still heartbroken over. Especially my 62.
@sammythats what I tell my self too. If I drive my truck another 20 years it will be the cheapest one I will ever own.
@dwh13 I was also oversold on the bullet-proofness of these trucks. Turns out they need overhauling of everything besides the engine and transmission around 200k miles.
Now I tell all my friends to either buy an example that some other sucker has already sorted out or forget about owning an LC.
Hopefully your new ride won't depreciate much and you will get years of fun and good memories out of it.
Good points. I will still drive the Land Cruiser though. Rather put my time, parts, and money into that then a 2014 Toyota Corolla.@sammybones thats what I tell my self too. If I drive my truck another 20 years it will be the cheapest one I will ever own.
