Looks like your garage is a wooden construction with walls with studs and triangle rafters, like mine. I had the same problem and just jacked the whole construction up a couple of inches. Then put a row of blocks under the walls, and a clear rubbery lip at the bottom of the door, on the inside.

It will actually go all the way in with out hitting lol I would love to raise it higher but we are in a historical area of town so they likely wouldnt let me do that

So I’ve had this Yakima mega warrior basket for 12 years now. I know it’s not an actual “rack”, but I have to admit the durability of this thing has been incredible. It’s been on my roof year-round through Maryland salty winters for all 12 years, and it’s hauled all kinds of gear, regularly has three kayaks questionably strapped to it, and lots of sandy/salty items from east coast beaches. It’s been a solid option that’s really held up well.

Former ARB Base Rack here. Too heavy up top, and too short up front for my liking.

Are there recommendations how to deal with the windshield trim ending where the factory rack used to overlap? I'm having water intrusion issues (at driver's left foot rest). I believe it's coming down under the windshield trim, which is now permanently bent up where I pulled the factory stuff out. What is the long term solution, that looks right, to an aftermarket rack? Should I buy a no-rack stock rail liner and cut out whichever mounts the aftermarket rack I eventually go with chooses?

Why did you tear out all of the trim running along the gutter? I have this rack and I would be almost positive the leaking you are having is from not sealing the area where it bolts to the roof properly. Water can always get under that trim, it doesn't keep any water out.

You have to buy new windshield trim. The roof trim is available solid or with cutouts where the mounting holes are. However, the difference in length between the windshield trims is not the issue. The trim on the roof is cosmetic. It's either the bolts that hold the rack or something with the windshield install.

PRINSU roof rack here, on a '99 UZJ100. Used only as a roof rack, I love it. It's light, doesn't make much noise, and is low profile. My biggest beef with it is that the design doesn't allow much flexibility when mounting an RTT tight to the rack and also enable an awning mount. But that's more to do with the Terrapod RTT than the PRINSU. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Would I buy a Dissent instead if I didn't have to spread my Cruiser budget across three rigs? Absolutely, I love the design and quality of the Dissent product. Hope this helps!

As I recall the ARB used different front mounting points than the 2006 stock rack. So after initially thinking the ARB didn't fit at all, I read up that my truck probably had the alternate factory mount points hidden under the tin gutter cover. In the process of finding it the rails were all bent and no longer viable.

Here's a shot of the front mount where my stock rack formerly attached (black rubber pad) and the further aft point where the front ARB bracket fits. Now that I think about it, this is another thing I didn't totally love, how the "vehicle-specific" kit wasn't entirely vehicle specific.

FWIW all holes have bolts and silicon seal. The sunroof drain is also clear. So all I can assume is I had a pre-existing bad seal around the windshield and when the stock rack no longer overlapped the windshield trim /more/ water collected in the resulting "wedge" at the top of the windshield. At least the windshield is cracked so I have an excuse to eventually figure it out. Sorry to distract from the OP's thread!

Does anyone have photos of a Gamiviti, ARB, Gobi, Frontrunner, or Dobinson roof rack with auxiliary lights (either a light bar or pods)? Trying to better understand what the lighting options are on these racks.

Ezzi Awn K9 Roof bars. Been really happy with them for mounting my tent. They're light (aluminum) and super sturdy.

This is what I am going to do, already have the "rails".........could you tell me how tall above the surface of the roof these are please, I am a tad concerned with garage door clearance. THX!

New windshield fixed the leak fwiw.

My Prinsu appears to be bent slightly from a 170lb RTT. Ordered a Gamiviti today for the 100.

I really want the Prinsu rack, but have a hard time swallowing that price...anyone have a used one looking to offload?

Can you elaborate a bit? Where was it bent? on the crossbars?

The side rails where the rails attach. Granted this could be the previous owner running it without all the rails in place. The design has all the weight on two screws per rail.

I know from experience that the Gamiviti is over built and bomb proof so I am just moving on. I may order a replacement for the questionable Prinsu components and fire sale it.

gotcha, thanks for the quick response!

Holler if you do the "fire sale", I may be interested......I need to do something, but my use case is very light weight.
