Installed an ARB Base Rack. The rack is well built and very low profile for what it is. I have an Ironman FCP lift with 285/70/17 tires. Still fits in my garage with a 7' garage door. I think I could get tie downs on there before it would hit the rubber seal that hangs down.

We dont park in the garage but nice to still be able to pull in for maintenance.

Kind of surprised to not see a Dobinsons rack posted yet.

Hi Scoty

For my Land Cruiser I am looking for a rack too. I think of new Rhino Rack NG or the ARB Rack.

What size is your ARB base rack?

The rack must be able to carry a ALUCAB 270 awning and as well some luggage in bags.

Looking forward hearing from you.

Greetings from Switzerland

Marcel

I really like my Dissent rack. The Roof Top Tent detachable bars make it a lot easier to install/remove the tent without having to fiddle beneath the tent. I just have undo 8, 5/8”-16 bolts on the side of the rack. Of note the cutout for the lightbar is 42” on the dot.

The Dissent rack come with these aluminum 3”x4” plates with 5/8”-16 captive nuts inside of them for mounting items to the slotted crossbars.

I run the long awning mounts on both sides of my rack to attach my ironman4x4 shower and awning room. In the future I like to move the shower tank from the RTT to the rack itself. My antidote RTT is a bit wide so I have to run these brackets in the horizontal position.

I hope Dissent brings their rear window side panels to market

What roof rack are those part of? The car came with the rails but rest was removed from 04 LC. Thanks.

I've got the Bowfin Cruisers rack and the build quality is second to none and I absolutely love the looks. I did have a couple of issues, one I resolved myself but the other I'm still waiting on help from the owner to fix. The issue I was able to take care of at home was a crazy resonance that I got with the very front crossbar when it was all the way to the front of the slot at highway speed. I don't have the lightbar on it yet, and when I do I believe that it won't vibrate like a violin string at speed, but until the light comes in I've backed the crossbar back and it's quieted it down. The second issue is I'm waiting for the correct center bracket on the passenger side. I unfortunately recieved two drivers side brackets and so the passenger side rail is only attached front and back, but it's still pretty dang solid, and I haven't received a reply back yet to my inqiries. I'd love to get the correct bracket so that I can get her fully bolted down and good to go. I had a fully steel rack on my 5th gen T4R, so I love having the weight savings of the aluminum on my LX.

Is Bowfin out of business, now?
Don't think so. Looks like Patrick even has a new design. Typical of a "small batch" fabricator, "Sold Out" comes and goes as he makes, sells, makes, sells...

I don't think so, their site is still up:

I've got their full rack with Kayak rollers on my 100 😎

Nice. I cold use a rack with kayak rollers!

The Bowfin site is up, but they have essentially no inventory. I remember falling in love with their rack years ago, and now when I might be in the market, they're ghosting me. Bummed. Might need to consider the Prinsu.

Eezi-awn is the only one I’ve seen that adds a mounting rail like that. This looks different though. Maybe it’s an older version.

@GVegasG @NearJetties
They are from African Outback (no longer in business I believe). I have one.
That does look like it. I wonder who has taken out the brackets and rack :) probably previous owner or someone at the Las Vegas auction :)
I guess I could try making brackets but not sure if it worth it.
Thank you both for looking into it.

@GVegasG The AO track design is not proprietary and therefore compatible with a lot of other manufacturers but I can't say 100% sure. You would have to try them out. Yakima, Rhino Rack, Front Runner, Thule all offer similar tracks and hence load bars and accessories.

I’m piecing together my own 3 load bar setup in place of the factory roof rack using Front Runner load bars and Gamiviti roof channel towers. I went with 1575mm which is the same width I run on my FJ62.

I haven’t purchased the Gamiviti roof towers yet. Does anyone have other suggestions I should consider?

Will post pictures down the road but figured I’d mention it since Front Runner is having a sale. It’ll be a while since I just had a tendon rupture repaired in my arm.

Looks like your garage is a wooden construction with walls with studs and triangle rafters, like mine. I had the same problem and just jacked the whole construction up a couple of inches. Then put a row of blocks under the walls, and a clear rubbery lip at the bottom of the door, on the inside.
