nice to see a lot of leds going in but where are the pics?

I went a different route and tried 2 Cree P4 Q5's in my dome light.

Here's my pics:

Yes I know... it's BRIGHT!!

On another note, I'm contemplating cutting open my tails to put some leds in but I saw these on SuperBrightLeds.

Anyone tried these? And even better have pics of them?

Wow, those are impressive domes! FYI, concerning brake/turn bulb applications, the superbright site recommends when you order led bulbs, make sure you order them in the same color as the lens you are putting them behind.

After being behind a few new 2010 car models with factory leds at a dark intersection, Ive decided not to go led in my brake or turn lenses - some of those new brake/turn lights verge on truly obnoxious intensity. When I have to put down my visor and sit up in my seat so I dont get retinal scarring  then it make me wonder if thats what I want.

But , I think I could use some upgraded back up bulbs so I can see better for safety.

What are folks using now (2016) for led some lights that work, don't flicker and don't use a crappy design with plastic and a spring? George site shows discontinued. The one murf used says discontinued as well. Has anyone found a Cree bulb some light ? I need something dependable and well built. Any help is appreciated!

Dome light.

I got led lights from @supercarrera , a mud memeber. The lights are nice and work well. Not too bright as to anoy me, but way more bright then the incandescent. I had a problem once but he made it right . If I needed more lights I would get them from him again.

I changed mine about 3 years ago to 36 LED panels and upgraded them yesterday to new smd panels and they are twice as bright.
Very happy

It's been 6 years since I installed my LED dome lights. What's the latest and greatest? My 100x LED panels are getting pretty dated and one doesn't work well anymore. I just put some festoon style bulbs into my son's Dakota and WOW, it makes mine look very sad.

What's the latest 2018-2019 tech in dome light LEDs?

I also had a 6 yr (or so) Led array that uses a Festoon connection that would flicker/weak lighting. I took it out and realized I needed to clean up the connections and it went back to working well. I also wold like to know what the latest and greatest is....

I got tired of not having enough light in the cabin for camping, found some trailer lights at walmart that fit the bill perfectly. Through my experience I prefer the amber color to the white for two reasons: 1) it's easier on the eyes at night, 2) it doesn't attract nearly as many bugs as the white LED's do.

Those are nice. I'm using white for my domes and actually am working on amber LED strips for camping.

I bought these, claim 300 lumens. Our trucks use the 31mm or 1.25" version bulbs. Will post up results.
RAYHOO LED Car Bulbs 31mm (1.25"), Canbus Error Free LED Bulbs for Interior Car Lights License Plate Dome Trunk, Fit for 3157 LED, DE3157 Bulb, 4-Pack (31mm) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078XBY7MV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_fD0LBb68ADP68
I tossed in the new bulb and it actually looks slightly brighter than my 48x LED panel. At least I have 4x bulbs now and this one doesn't flicker.

I see the output limitation though. My son's Festoon bulbs are a full 1/2" longer. Not much room in my lamp housing. I'll check again when it's dark but just comparing the harsh shadow lines, it's clear they are a bit brighter. Seeing them side by side, the color is much less blue-white and more white. The color on my center console really looks different with these bulbs.

I'll be adding some more cabin lights in the back and may consider a couple stalk mounted LEDs up front. I've replaced the front manual map light with a super bright Red LED already. Makes life much easier up front if I need the light while on the road.
