I don't know that much about these, but I just saw these on the net that are supposedly off of the '05 model that are LED:

You can see that they are a little different, but wanted to show them to you to see since it shows what it looks like up close, as well as on the back side.

I bet the pigtail harness is different, but available. When I was in my 4Runner days a bunch of the guys upgraded to the new tail lights(within the same body style) and they had to order a new pigtail that went between the light and the main body harness.

The casing is much larger

2 days ago I looked at a LC with LED's next to a LC without (both brand new in the dealers yard right next to each other) and they appeared exactly the same size. I believe the only exterior bits that were changed were the tail lights, the grill and headlights. Although the little trim panel under the headlights appears to have been changed (to suit the new head lights), I very much doubt the body press would have been changed to accept a new rear light, I expect it will be a direct replacement. My .02 worth

anyone yet?

Replaced 04 Cygnus with 06 LED Tail Lights

I replaced the tail lights in my 04 LC Cygnus (LX470) with the 06 LC Cygnus LED rear lights. Its direct bolt on and i assume its the same for the LC. I had to re wire a connection for the LED lights the indecator light stays the same. Everything works just fine except the dash is showing i have a bulb fuse signal. although everything is fine. Any idea how do i stop that. Someone said something about a registor, can you explain. Email me if you guys want detailed pictures.

I'm FAR FROM being the boss in any field, especially when it comes to vehicle electronics. :frown:

I "think" I have read when someone said that they had their turn signals blink really fast after installing LED lights (turn signals?) and that you would have to install a resister or something to get it back to normal (I thought I heard there were two ways to do it; but one of them did not necessarily save on the battery drainage which kind of defeats the purpose of going LED for many).

I'm not sure IF I recall somebody saying it happening with installing just the brake lights, or does the LX have LED blinkers as well as the brake lights(Sorry, not familiar with it)? Not sure if it makes any different, but....

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don' know jack squat!!! :o :frown:

I'd love to hear how you you resolved it though...

Isn't e99999999999 an engineer or something?
I'm sure he'll chime in and shed some light on it.

Sorry that I'm not any help...

Good luck!!

Nice conversion but not worth $400 to me. I already have clear corners from an '05 on mine, and I was mostly just hatin' the amber lens.

:bounce:

Has anyone got the 06' lights working yet?
