One of the 40s Matt owned had an intake that was apparently repaired with JB Weld. It had a header so no heat riser to bake the JB Weld. Seemed to work OK as I recall.

I picked up the manifold looks like they drilled a hole and opened up the gap to about 1/8" to make it easier to weld then ran a bead but i guess they got it so hot the crackk got way bigger and even cracked right through the new weld as it cooled, they pretty much destroyed it...

I'm running a 60 intake for the same reason.

The same gaskets are called out for 70 thru 87. I don't think the design changed much over the years. Maybe the newer manifolds have extra tapped holes for carb fan sensors and stuff??

emailed that guy about the manifold

I found what looks to be a 1 bbl intake while moving. Free, come and get it.
