Gday,
As you can see from the pictures, i have a leaking clutch (master cylinder obviously) It doesn't seem to be leaking from the outside though, only the inside.... Can i just rebuild it? Also, i wouldn't mind getting a new booster while i'm in there, i've always had clutch issues. I found THIS thread, but i cant seem to find where he bought it..... Can you help me Boogie?

Hi ben,

check this thread out. Might have the info u need https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/285598-clutch-pedal-hard.html
third or fourth post down has a link to the Chinese manufacturer. Webby got one to but it can take a while.

if ur clutch master is leaking u may find it impossible to find a replacement. See how you go but I couldn't find one and put in a rebuild kit. RooDogs help me out with the clutch master kit.
Let me know how you go.

Good luck mate.

Thanks mate, but that link isn't working for me..... "detail error"

Repco ey, I might have to drop in one day... they give you a price on a new master?

Look at page two of 70 series tech. Title: clutch pedal hard.
I'd be interested in the clutch master too. Has to be the three bolt type for the BJ74 tho. A regular two bolt 70 series won't cut it.

Search in the 70's tech section for clutch or booster and in the drop down menu search titles only. Lots of info.

Thanks Hulsty that would be great. I would get one just to have as a spare.

I searched and found a link for the clutch booster. Same company but the part number has changed.

The one u want is XP-505. Click on it and have a look. When I bought mine from them the part number was 31440 60100 which is very similar to the Toyota part number for the BJ74 clutch booster 31440 60070. Anyway it's the one a got and fitted to my 74 and it works. Same as oem.

Clutch master from Repco $501.00 Takes a coupla days as its in SA.

 wow, I was hoping to get one to put on the shelf for when I needed it, but at that price I will wait

Just shopped around, the best i could do was an overhaul at ABS or the like... I'm just going to do that, might get my slave cylinder done at the same time.

Just been searching and came across the hzj75/79 clutch master. Looks like it will fit a BJ71 or 74 with a slight modification to the clutch line and heat deflector. Also the price is good. Well under $200. Check eBay and toyodiy for hzj75 clutch master cylinder.

I ended up having my master and slave overhauled with stainless sleeves ect, through ABS.
Was $195 for the master and $95 for the slave. Both are mint, they just didn't make a difference to my clutch. Still releases 1 inch from the ground ect. I need a new booster (still waiting on a response from summer), and i need a new clutch also......

Hang in there mate. I think summer has helped a few cruiser owners out from mud. It can take a while but it's better than a grand for an oem one. Sorry to here about your clutch. I went through all this last year. At leat when it's all done you'll know it will be all sweet.

Just heard back from Summer. $150 posted to me. $65 for the unit itself. Does anybody else want one? i might be able to get a discount for a few....

Cool, i'll see what i can do. She just emailed me and said if i order 300 or more, i can get it sent VIA sea and get a huge discount....... I don't think there would even be 300 BJ74's in Australia LOL
