Don't think I have ever posted on here but I'm always browsing. Anyhow I was looking under the hood and noticed a new leak. Is this a common one for a 1994 fjz80 with 155k.

Kind of hard to tell but I'm fairly confident it's from the hard heater hose base.
Sorry if I missed an existing thread.

Looking at the picture seems like the bypass from the thermostat to the engine is leaking, inside the metal housing that goes up from the thermostat (its hold in place by two nuts) there is a short aluminum pipe with two o-rings, I replaced mine with 190.000 kms and it was really badly corroded and the o-rings where completely flat, but the leak in my LC was not as bad as yours.

Here is a diagram of what I'm talking about.

I just zoom in the picture an is does not appear to be leaking from where I told you earlier. You are right is the base of the rubber hose. I would't know about that, I think that my truck doesn't have that rubber hose I'm almost certain that has a complete metal pipe. Tomorrow I will check and post back.

mine is all metal also. try putting on a constant tourque clamp or two if you think the hose is leaking. also check the tourque of the two nuts holding the plate down

It's kind of common. I had it happen on mine too.

Order all 3 o-rings and the little pipe the bottom 2 o-rings fit on at a minimum. I ended replacing my whole bypass pipe too since my little cuppler pipe was actually splitting at the o-ring. Good luck!

Thanks

Like beno mentioned, the 93-94 had a PAIR system attached on there. The PAIR system was removed on the 95-97 cruisers.

I just checked my truck and no rubber hose at that point is metal pipe almost to the firewall.
