I have a euro 2001 hzj78 and I'm going through a pretty rigorous Spanish ITV/mod approval process on my suspension installed by a previous owner. Truck came from France.

It has old man emu coils and shocks in the front, and old man emu shocks in the back. The PO said that the rear was original with added leafs.

I can't find and image the confirms that they are old man emu or Toyota. Might be a euro brand.

Note how the wrap comes what back on itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ian

I don't think those greaseable shackle bolts are factory. that piece on top of the spring going back I also don't think are factory, never seen that before, might be something someone in Europe sold awhile ago. If you can't find any identifying marks on the leaf pack just tell them whatever they want to hear.

My 75 has the original suspension in it and it does not have that wrap around eye. Nor does it have the straight eye that you can see in any photo of the OME spring packs. I've never seen that spring wrap style before, anywhere. This is not a Toyota brand spring, but the original ones look very similar to this. The OME does not have the angulation in it before going in to the eye.

Ome does not have that wrap, but I like it!
The only manufacturer I am aware of that makes those greasable shackles with hollow nuts for protection is dobinsons.

Interestingly enough when I looked into getting my leaves re-sprung, the labour cost was close to getting new springs in Oz. So instead of saving the planet and reusing, I went with new dobinsons. Not a very difficult job to replace springs, feels good.
