A friend with a 2016 is experiencing the same errors. I didn't see how OP resolved his issue. Any ideas?

My Slee rear bumper wiring harness was shorting out on a bumper bracket. Slee made everything right and I have not had any further issues. The truckgets lots of hard use in the field too.

This is great that you fixed it @Mendocino ! I'm having the same issue, but I don't have an aftermarket rear bumper, no accidents and few mods (lift and sliders). I wish there was a clear resolution to this.
