Jim called at 7:14 pm. Thank you Jim

...Jim will build the last set of sliders for me. Yes, the captain will be the last one to abandon the ship!

In all seriousness (someone has to be :D), thank you very much, medtro, for all your persistence in this, on our behalf. And though you certainly didn't have to be "last in line", I can understand your feeling the need to be... It's been a challenge, I'm sure, being in the middle of all this, and so I appreciate your staying on top of it as best as possible.

And thank you, Jim, for the recent updates and setting ship dates. This has made me feel much relieved about the whole thing...

Now, "bring on the sliders"!! :bounce2: :wrench::wrench::wrench:

And now, back to our regularly scheduled comedy hour... ;p

Measurement for Jim

Jim,

Measurement you requested.

Ok, Jackson called me and clarified. My holes on the mounting plate are 4 3/4" apart.

What are the measurements for? Are you going to try and use those frame holes for mounting?

The passenger side slider uses those two bolt holes, on my sliders the mounting plate has the holes too far apart to put both bolts in.

Ross,

Can you please tell us how you secured the center rigger (next to the cats) on the PS?

I have a Slee transfer case skid and was able to use it as a backing plate. I didn't use a single one of the preexisting frame holes for either side. I just thought that the backing plates with the bolts Jim sent acted like a U-bolt. Maybe I installed them in a way that Jim didn't intend, but I would say it is solid after my unintended highjinks at Moab.

It's plenty solid with 2, I put the whole truck on the passenger slider by accident. :hillbilly:

4.5, the way it has always been. ;)

my drill my have wandered and i've changed my drill press cause i tweaked the shaft bad when a bit locked up on me.
i'm not sure how they were that far off when the plate bolts into this part of the jig.

i even drill the holes a bit larger than needed just cause of this.

anyway, a rat tail file and a bit o' patience will fix this.

sorry....

They are plenty strong even without the passenger center bolted up at all.

I'll eventually get around to ovaling the drilled holes so I can get the bolts in, but I haven't had any issues so far wheeling and using the sliders. I can use the bottoms to slide over rocks and the tops to transport spotters.

I do have a question though, and while it's slider related, it might not be a direct SROR slider issue.

Now my sliders obviously stick out far because they are the step style. I finally got around to using the hi-lift jack to lift the truck near the rear of the driver's side (all 3 mounts are bolted up). I was close to the rear mounting "arm" and I noticed that jacking it up sort of flexed the slider up towards the body pinch weld area. It didn't contact and when I lowered the jack the slider was back in the normal position, not bent up or anything.

Seeing this, I first thought that non-step sliders would allow you to position the hi-lift under the rectangle main slider bar which should limit the twist force I'm applying jacking up from the outer rail.

Looking at the rail though, this would put the vertical shaft (or whatever its called) of the hi-lift against the body.

So....as sliders on the rocks - these are great. But - are sliders not supposed to be used with a hi-lift?

I'll take pics if this question seems confusing.
